Commercial Description:
IPA stands for India Pale Ale and ours is an American version of the classic style. IPA’s namesake lies in its colonial roots. British soldiers on their way to India dark a lot of beer, but found it would go stale on the long voyages. Meanwhile, brewers knew that by adding more hops, the beer would stay fresh. Voila! A new style was born and it is one we are proud to brew. Southern Tier IPA is a triple-hopped on its journey to your glass for a fully aromatic experience.

12oz bottle from shadey. pours clear light copper with fluffy white head. nose is of a not so fresh hops with medicinal scents. flavor is stale, medicinal, and way past it’s prime. i’m guessing this is at least 6months old. i’ll have to re-rate a fresher bottle some day.

Bottle at Akkurat, Stockholm. Pours clear amber with a smallish head. Great apples and citrus aroma. Flavours are fruity hops, hints of toffee towards the finish. Nice hop mix. A great American IPA.

bottle-poured a nice white frothy head, which dissolved after a few minutes. Body was a light amber, and had a bouquet of citrusy hops. Overall, my kind of IPA.

Pours copper with a light tan head. The aroma has muddled caramel malt, orange / pine hops and some sweetness - very smooth. Medium body that starts smooth and ends grainy with semi-sharp carbonation. The flavor starts with musty caramel malt and some spicy hops. The finish has some citrus and pine. Fair at best.

I tried this IPA on tap at a local bar. Poured a dark, amber with a thing head. Held the usual crisp hoppy aroma along with notes of citrus. Ends a bit more bitter then i like but overall is a great IPA

Bottle. [Courtesy of Papsoe, another great session @ Papsoe] Small beige rocky head that mostly diminished. Clear golden color. Fair lacework. Aroma of elderflower, grapefruit, apricot, pine, citrus and some toffee-caramel notes as well. Medium to full bodied with a dry texture and an average carbonation. Well balanced bitter and sweet flavor. Smooth and light dry and bitter finish. 31-08-2007

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Courtesy of sliffy. Pours a clear, pale amber golden with a white head. Citrusy notes with fat and rich oily hops. Medium-bodied, lightly sweet caramel malt and then again these extremely fresh citrus notes. Moderate bitterness. 310807

12 fl oz bottle. Pours slight hazy dark orange with a lacing off-white head. Malty grapefruit aroma, seems dry. Classic ipa flavour with minor herbal twist (slight soap flavoured without that classic soapy feel). Dry finish with a persisting aroma hops flavour.
