Commercial Description:
IPA stands for India Pale Ale and ours is an American version of the classic style. IPA’s namesake lies in its colonial roots. British soldiers on their way to India dark a lot of beer, but found it would go stale on the long voyages. Meanwhile, brewers knew that by adding more hops, the beer would stay fresh. Voila! A new style was born and it is one we are proud to brew. Southern Tier IPA is a triple-hopped on its journey to your glass for a fully aromatic experience.

Bottle. Sweetish hoppy aroma, not as sweet as their APA, which I just had, and with a bit of resin. Going to be a thick, hoppy experience. Pours a clear golden which leans toward copper, with a beige / off-white head, bubbly and sticky. Taste is very bitter, but not uncontrollably so, with predictably bitter finish and after. Lots and lots of hops, alcohol isn’t here in great quantity but still adds a lot of fatigue. Medium-full body. A quencher, but by no means a quaffer, and, in the big picture, not something I’m interested in try again.

Bottle; poured a rich, dark orange; off white head. Aroma of citrus, mango, balanced with caramel and floral elements. Medium bodied; with some oiliness and creaminess in the palate. Flavor was not over the top; caramel and citrus mostly shining through. Hints of floral and bread. Bitterness was pretty mellow. Good sessional.

Clean amber orange in colour with a slightly orangy white head. Aroma of rich hops is present with caramel like malts. Flavour is hop filled and the malt compliments it very well. Clean and refeshing and a somewhat oily palate. Very good!

Bottled sample via GregClow. Light copper in colour with moderate carbonation. Aromas of butter caramels, c-hops, and flowers. Strikes a nice flavor balance between the caramel malts and the citrusy hops. Firm black pepper bitterness. A touch watery in the mouth, but a success overall.

<Bottle from JB175. Thanks!
Pours a nice amber with an aroma of coppery, buttery grapefruit. Flavors of subtle grapefruit with a hint of orange. Average mouthfeel. Very mild IPA; very approachable.

Chill hazed honey amber with a small offwhite head that leaves some patchy lace on the glass. Aroma is citrusy, with some pine and grassy hops. Medium body supports a lot of grapefruity hop bitterness. Malty caramel provides an agreeable balance. Very nice!
