RiverHorse (454), New Jersey, USA Mar 4, 2007 Poured a crisp orange/bronze color with a decent creamy head. Smell of pines/grass and hops dominate the nose. Pine is the overwhelming smell. Tastes very hoppy with a hint of pine and sweetness. The finish is nice and sweet and the hops don’t dominate this IPA like many others. It isn’t my favorite IPA, but overall an extremely good beer. chimplechamp (463), Oslo, Norway Mar 3, 2007 nice and hoppy, more of the grassy piney selection than usual. it is nice and dry. i really like this for a go to sort of ipa. BeerBellyOSU (47), Columbus, Ohio, USA Feb 26, 2007 Clear, golden amber in color, carmel head. Very woodsy hop aroma. Very pleasant hoppy start, sweet, almost winey, finish. A nice IPA. frankenkitty (1900), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA Feb 25, 2007 Pours a light-hazed copper with mild carbonation and a cream-colored head that holds and laces in light spackles. Sharp, PNW hops are rather mouthwatering with their grapefruit and pine, but I also detect quite a helping of caramel malts to help balance it out. Spicy on the tongue and lips, this brew is mid-bodied yet fairly dry. Flavor finds a pleasant mix of sweet & bitter, lingering on the latter. Orange, lemon & grapefruit all make an appearance, carried by a tea-like base of English-style malts. Very nicely done.

durkahdurkah (15), Charlestown, Massachusetts, USA Feb 19, 2007 The IPA that single-handedly got me into drinking IPAs. Amber color when poured, small off-white head. Quite hoppy, but leaves residual traces of sweetness, akin to caramel, with a touch of citrus notes. Good mouthfeel. I highly recommend this one, as well as a lot of other brews from Southern Tier. dkoonce (879), People’s Republic of Athens, Ohio, USA Feb 16, 2007 Bottle. Pours clear and light copper, with a thick off-white head. Despite the head cold, the hop aroma cuts through; more resin than floral. Light body, with a sweeter than expected finish. 2beerguys (299), North Shore, Massachusetts, USA Feb 14, 2007 Pours a light amber color with a small, fizzy white head. Quickly diminishing head. Fair lacing. Aroma is of bread malts with a sweet kick, perhaps caramel, as well as hops in the form of light grass. Initially sweet, and then moving to a moderately bitter finish with a bite. Light to medium on the mouth, it has a watery texture with soft carbonation.
