Aug 17, 2009 Updated: Aug 25, 2009Orangeish-brown pour with long-lasting foamy, fluffy white head. Nice subtle scent - grapefruits, some sweetness (perhaps caramel). Slightly sweet up front taste with a nice bitter finish, sorta floral in the taste too. All in all a quality IPA.

Aug 14, 2009 Was called Iso-Alpha at Ushitora. Grapefruity nose with a touch of cotton candy. Superbly well balanced with grapefruit and citrusy notes shining over the malty backbone with a just a touch of caramel. Moderately bitter finish. Very nice IPA.

Aug 14, 2009 Bottle. Murky amber with a short white head. Luscious citrus and pine drenched aroma with a lighter malt backbone and soft caramel. Taste is strong citrus hops, floral hops, sweet malt, light caramel, apricot, pear and orange peel. Body is medium, slightly oily and very bubbly. Finishes with a softer hop bite, more citrus notes, light caramel, pear, floral hops and light spicy hops. Nice!

Aug 12, 2009 Not terribly distinguised from the many other American-brewed IPA’s out there. Good brew but I wouldn’t go out of my way to find this one again. Pours an orange that is a bit too dark for my expectations. Aroma was pleasant - nothing noteworthy positive or negative. As the beer warmed, hop bitterness became a bit too overwhelming - the balance fell apart a bit.

Aug 11, 2009 Pours a beautiful orange. Hoppy with a predominant grapefruit flavor. A very fresh and refreshing beer. A great beer to start the night with. A very solid offering, if unspectacular.

Aug 10, 2009 Bottle. Pours a dark orange with small white head. The aroma is clean hops. The taste is smooth balanced hop flavor with not much going on, but great solid IPA.

Aug 10, 2009 Bottled 355ml. Ordered from crackedkettle.com. It pours a clear amber beer with a small off-white head. Interesting hoppy aroma with green tea, turkish delight, jarred pickles, overripe orange, quite a lot of melissa, coriander and some grapefruit showing up. Surprisingly low bitterness in the taste. Sweet. The malt is too present to my liking. Decent hop profile. Medium bodied. Subtle. Hints of turkish delight, melissa, rose, raisin, green tea and grapefruit. Low carbonation. Leafy. Some sticky spotty lacework. A lot of liquorice allsorts and mint appearing in the finish which is dryish. A very gentle IPA.
