Commercial Description:
IPA stands for India Pale Ale and ours is an American version of the classic style. IPA’s namesake lies in its colonial roots. British soldiers on their way to India dark a lot of beer, but found it would go stale on the long voyages. Meanwhile, brewers knew that by adding more hops, the beer would stay fresh. Voila! A new style was born and it is one we are proud to brew. Southern Tier IPA is a triple-hopped on its journey to your glass for a fully aromatic experience.

Copper color w/ a nice sticky white head w/ some good lacing. Aroma is quite nice a lot of grapefruit and a little bit of pepper and some light carmels. Palate is quite nice well coated. A solid ipa some good grapefruit and grass light carmels and a hint of biscuit not overly bitter but very nice.

Suprising taste, as southern tier usually comes with the unexpected. Very grassy taste, that is a tad too bitter. Could be a little more floral, but would buy again.

Pours a clear copper color with a thick white head. Good aroma of spicy and citrusy hops. Good flavor of citrusy hops with biscuity malt and a bitter finish. The body is light to medium with an oily texture and gentle carbonation. Nicely done and well balanced.

Orange/copper pour, with a small, frothy, off-white head. Mostly grapefruit aroma, with a hint of caramel malt. Flavor is similar to the aroma, but a bit maltier than expected, and just a hint of nuttiness. Palate is medium. a bit resiny, grassy, and bitter. Pretty solid ipa, and fairly balanced, but nothing really stands out

A very solid IPA. Stand out a bit in the very big and fresh hop aroma while not being overwhelming or overly bitter in the mouth.

12oz bottle via trade with Ty5592. Aroma: Pleasant pine and floral, with a light orange/citrus/ Some Light caramel and malt. Appearance: Amber in color and clear. Off-white head was full and foamy with good retention. Good lacing. Flavor: Some light caramel and maltiness up front with a light honey note. Pine, floral, and citrus hops with a strong grassiness into the finish. Dry finish. Light bitterness was pleasant and didn’t linger too long. Palate: Medium-light bodied. Moderate carbonation. Overall: A drinkable and enjoyable IPA, but lacking anything to separate it from the competitors.

This beer starts with the hoppy flavor of most IPA’s but continues with a sweet, floral taste. The finish is not as hoppy as most similar beers and in my opinion could use more hops. Even though it is not a very hoppy IPA, I think it is well done.

lightly hazey, amber body with medium sized, creamy, off-white head. The aroma is farily malty, lots of caramel, brewad and toffee, some grapefruit and floral hops. The flavor is fairly sweet, lots of toffee, tea, some citrus hops. Medium body, soft and smooth. This is a very lightly hopped IPA, i wonder how old this bottle is.
