IPA stands for India Pale Ale and ours is an American version of the classic style. IPA’s namesake lies in its colonial roots. British soldiers on their way to India dark a lot of beer, but found it would go stale on the long voyages. Meanwhile, brewers knew that by adding more hops, the beer would stay fresh. Voila! A new style was born and it is one we are proud to brew. Southern Tier IPA is a triple-hopped on its journey to your glass for a fully aromatic experience.

Bottle. Most IPA have a citrus aroma and this one is no different. However many of them really hit you with hops citrus. This one, though hoppy to be sure, has a very good lemon zest taste. Quite refreshing. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: SEP 25, 2013 Bottle. Pours a clear golden colour with a half-finger, eggshell head that diminishes quickly.Aroma is vibrant and bready with hints of floral and citrus.Taste is a mild bitter with a drawn out, slightly floral aftertaste.Low-medium body with a medium carbonation. Clean and refreshing mouth feel.Overall not bad. A fair bit of malt taste to off-set the bitterness. The aroma is lively. Not overdone but well done.

Light orange amber color. Very clear. Half finger bright white head. Good retention to it. Nose is pine, orange peel, grapefruit, and caramel. Nice nose. Taste is aggressive pine, grapefruit and citrus. Nice bitterness. Medium body and carbonation. Lots of citrus with a dry finish. Solid, workable IPA. No wow factor but that is OK ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Solid IPA however I was not blown away by it. Seemed slightly unbalanced and bland.

Pop the top off the bottle & dig that crazy ipa hop juice & high octane malt backbone bouquet. Pours deep orange with a picket fence white cap. The thrill here is the fruit salad taste the hops & malt offer: grapefruit, candied papaya, & caramel. Moderate bubbles on the tongue & a slow fade finish make this a winner. Smoother than surf guitar reverb.

Bottle. Pours a semi clear orange with ample white head. Aroma is a sweet citrus with some hops as well, only slightly piney. Taste is a ripe citrus, ripe fruit combo, picking up some slight malt. Nice slightly bitter finish.

A nice golden amber color with a light head leavimg little lacing. Aroma of grapefruit and some other citrus notes. Very well balanced flavor with citrus notes a little bitterness in the middle but balanced by the sweetness of the malt.
