COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
IPA stands for India Pale Ale and ours is an American version of the classic style. IPA’s namesake lies in its colonial roots. British soldiers on their way to India dark a lot of beer, but found it would go stale on the long voyages. Meanwhile, brewers knew that by adding more hops, the beer would stay fresh. Voila! A new style was born and it is one we are proud to brew. Southern Tier IPA is a triple-hopped on its journey to your glass for a fully aromatic experience.

A decent IPA, reminds me of DFH 60 minute. Not as citrusy or hoppy as some of my favorite IPAs (such as Stone IPA or Racer5).

Bottle. Thanks bluus. Aroma is pine and grapefruit. Taste is dry and quite bitter with much of the same flavors as in the aroma. Palate is strong, stiff, carbonated. It’s an IPA, one of the better ones, definitely.

Nice looking orange beer with a thin white head. Aroma of peach, cloudberry and wood. The body is medium. Enjoyable smooth bitterness. It’s somewhat on the sweet side. Lots of caramel. I really should get my hands on their double IPA!

Bottle 12 fl. oz. BBE 04/2014. Pours clear pale copper in color with a thin off-white head. Bready malty and sweet biscuits with some grassy notes in aroma. Dry. Bready and toasted in flavor, some pine also. Bitter, with a slightly sweet twist in aftertaste.

a great cheap go to six pack. Nothing wrong and a lot right. hay and bread; lotsa floral resin. a bit lacking in body. but hey, a six pack beer, not a specialty bomber. great bitterness and high ABV. An obvy sessional set switch to on.

Aroma: Excellent aroma of bitterness, alcohol, citrus, berries, resin, and just a touch of honey. Mouthfeel: Soft with a generous amount of bubbles. Medium to large body. Taste: Clean taste. Bold bitterness, earthy hops, dry and warming. Pine and grapefruit. Finish: Astringent and bitter (think grapefruit skin) finish. Long, very long duration. Fantastic. Overall: Lovely IPA. Not complicated, quite accessible, just the right thing.

12 oz bottle poured into a glass. Golden color with lasting white head. Nose is malt, citrus. Taste is caramel, malt, pine, citrus. Bitterness is somewhat intrusive. Not as good as ST 2x IPA for sure.

From a 12 oz bottle shared at home. Pours a cloudy copper with a white head. Aroma of fruity hops with some hint of butterscotch. Citrus and grass notes in the flavor. Bitter, bitter finish.
