Commercial Description:
IPA stands for India Pale Ale and ours is an American version of the classic style. IPA’s namesake lies in its colonial roots. British soldiers on their way to India dark a lot of beer, but found it would go stale on the long voyages. Meanwhile, brewers knew that by adding more hops, the beer would stay fresh. Voila! A new style was born and it is one we are proud to brew. Southern Tier IPA is a triple-hopped on its journey to your glass for a fully aromatic experience.

12 oz. bottle from Ludlow Wines. Pours a clean copper with a frothy off white head that doesn’t stick around long. Pine. Nice aroma of hops, fruit, and spices. Flavor is sweet and bitter with a good punch of hops and a slight soapiness. Dry finish and pleasant aftertaste. Very straightforward, solid IPA.

Pour is a orange with a small white head. Aroma is a nice whiff of pine with some caramel malts. Flavor is more hoppy but not much else comes out of this one. I’ll always give a nice hoppy IPA a decent rating but this one was missing something. Its full of hops but not much body.

a very balanced beer with a powerful hop aroma. This beer is packed with flavours of nuts, fruit and caramel with a moderate amount of hop finish. definitely on the light-bodied side making it a very easy-drinking IPA.

I enjoyed this fine beverage in a 20 oz oversized pint glass at the blue tusk in syracuse, NY. It had a very subtle and nicely balanced hop vibe to it. It kind of had an english ale smoothness to it. It was a nice beer to finish the evening with. Very chill floral aroma as well.

12 oz bottle from secret santa. Thanks rudy. Pours a cloudy copper gold with a very small white head. Aroma is somewhat mild with pine, mild citrus and something perfumy floral. The taste is caramel malty with mild piney hops. The mouthfeel was light and crisp. The finish was short and dry.Overall: Not a bad little IPA, might have been cutting edge ten years ago, but now its not up to current craft standards.

12 oz. bottle from Ludlow Wines. Pours a clean copper with a frothy off white head that doesn’t stick around long on the beer but lasts on the walls of the glass. Nice aroma of hops, fruit, and spices. Flavor is sweet and bitter with a good punch of hops and a slight soapiness. Dry finish and pleasant aftertaste. Very straightforward, solid IPA.

12oz bottle from total wine in norfolk. pours a clear, orange gold with a thin, bubbly, off white head and light lacing. aroma is pleasant with floral and citrus hops, a touch of pine, and slightly sweet notes of apple and caramel malt. flavor is a bit disppointing, but it’s possible this is an off bottle. the hops are non-existent and i get mostly dry, burnt malts, a bit of toffee, and dry cider. palate is light bodied with medium carbonation and a dry, bitter finish. overall, a weak offering from a great brewery. will re-rate down the road because i suspect this is a bad bottle.
