Aroma revels in honeysuckle rose, pine bitterness, English toffee, nougats, maple vats and vanilla. Amaretto, watermelon and bitterness initially manifest as the flavor’s predominant profile on the uptake by chafing the tongue. Sweetening honey and herbal supplements turn up by way of rosemary, saffron and lavender, and help to spawn new nuances with each sip. Some spicy hops linger. Medium-to-light body with somewhat of a wishy-washy feel on the palate. Finishes with light cherry syrup and amaretto liquor avec bitterness. Nice, sweet, modest rendition. Thanks for the bottle, tpkenned! ABUSEDGOAT (1934), California, USA

Caramel in flavoring, but not a lot. Much more fruity. Not as syrupy at the end as I prefer, but this was a great IPA. Went down smooth and too fast. swoopjones (1933), Buffalo, New York, USA

Blood Orange zest on the nose. Citrus and pine for flavor with a malty backbone. Crisp and clean. Kevin (1920), Colorado, USA

Sweet candy orange aroma with touches of vanilla and walnut. I really like this aroma, it is inviting. Orange grass flavor that immediately asserts itself. A bitter little bugger for sure. Nice sweet side comes through midtatste with honey cream and vanilla. Finish is more grass hops and a little tart fruit. I like this one. It is a good one to have while getting paperwork in order to file my taxes.

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 25, 2007 Pours a light-hazed copper with mild carbonation and a cream-colored head that holds and laces in light spackles. Sharp, PNW hops are rather mouthwatering with their grapefruit and pine, but I also detect quite a helping of caramel malts to help balance it out. Spicy on the tongue and lips, this brew is mid-bodied yet fairly dry. Flavor finds a pleasant mix of sweet & bitter, lingering on the latter. Orange, lemon & grapefruit all make an appearance, carried by a tea-like base of English-style malts. Very nicely done.
