Commercial Description:
IPA stands for India Pale Ale and ours is an American version of the classic style. IPA’s namesake lies in its colonial roots. British soldiers on their way to India dark a lot of beer, but found it would go stale on the long voyages. Meanwhile, brewers knew that by adding more hops, the beer would stay fresh. Voila! A new style was born and it is one we are proud to brew. Southern Tier IPA is a triple-hopped on its journey to your glass for a fully aromatic experience.

Bottle. Orange blonde color. pineapple, grapefruit and oily and flowery hops in the aroma. Firm oily, slightly perfumed hopbitter flavor with pineapple. Leather in the finish. Malty sweetish. Loads of flavor, but the balance could be better.

Bottle, bought @ Ølbutikken, Cph.
Pours clear, darkish golden with a firm, staying, creamy, off-white head. Aroma has good citric and pine hops with a little grapefruit peeping through. A touch of caramel. Medium carbonation, super lovely dry mouthfeel. Flavour is heavy hoppy, light caramel and bready malts. PIne, flowery and fruity hops abound. Long, lingering bitterness. Nice.

(Bottle, courtesy of Silphium) Pours a lightly cloudy orange body with an average-sized creamy beige head. Aroma of toasted malt, tofee, and citrus. Flavor of breadiness and juicy hops. A very well balanced and tasty IPA.

Bottle acquired in trade with SpringsLicker (thanks!). Poured a dark amber color with a small sized off white head. As soon as I poured this, I was hit with a juicy orange aroma that turned to mainly pine. Tastes of pine, oranges, and caramel Nice medium bitter to lightly sweet balance.

12oz bottle-pours a foamy light tan head and amber color. Aroma is medium hops-citrus, fruity, pine, sweet. Taste is bitter, more robust medium hops-citrus with slight bitterness, fruity, pine, sweet, balanced with sweet medium malt. Light/medium taste and body. Mild/OK carbonation.

Clear apricot body, nice sticky 1cm head lasts. Hoppy nose, orangey, foresty. Fresh hop flavors, subtle woodiness and piney notes. Nice mouthfeel, medium bodied, creamy texture. Initially fine carbonation, but rapidly fading out. Not much malt coming through, but it leaves a balanced hoppy afterthought if such a thing exists. Good all-around unagressive IPA.

On tap at David Copperfield's, NYC... Cloudy, orange ale with a large, frothy, white head. Lots of citrus and pine with lesser notes of caramel in the nose. The flavor mirrors the aroma. Fruity and slightly less-than-moderately bitter. Full-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and mild carbonation. Lengthy, dry, citrusy finish. Very good beer!
