Commercial Description:
IPA stands for India Pale Ale and ours is an American version of the classic style. IPA’s namesake lies in its colonial roots. British soldiers on their way to India dark a lot of beer, but found it would go stale on the long voyages. Meanwhile, brewers knew that by adding more hops, the beer would stay fresh. Voila! A new style was born and it is one we are proud to brew. Southern Tier IPA is a triple-hopped on its journey to your glass for a fully aromatic experience.

Tap NY, Draft. This one has one of the best hop profiles that you are going to find in an IPA. You can actually taste the hop flowers to the point where it feels like the entire flowers are in your mouth. Fun beer.

Big spicy and grassy hop aroma. Poured a copper color, cream colored head, nice lace. Flavor was malty up front with a fair amount of hops behind. Medium body. Well done.

Clear, dark copper/amber. Ecru head. Very hoppy aroma of grapefruit & pine. Sticky feel. Flavour is very bitter w/ pine needles & grapefruit coming through most strongly. Could use more malt for balance.

12oz bottle poured into a pint glass. Nicely balanced and very drinkable for an IPA... well done, Southern Tier!

Pours a darker coppery color with a small white head. Aroma is west coast IPA hoppy with hints of citrus. Taste is also west coast hoppy with a nice touch of citrus to it. Would never guess that this is brewed in New York. Very good IPA.
