IPA stands for India Pale Ale and ours is an American version of the classic style. IPA’s namesake lies in its colonial roots. British soldiers on their way to India dark a lot of beer, but found it would go stale on the long voyages. Meanwhile, brewers knew that by adding more hops, the beer would stay fresh. Voila! A new style was born and it is one we are proud to brew. Southern Tier IPA is a triple-hopped on its journey to your glass for a fully aromatic experience.

Pours a slightly hazy dark gold. Long lasting bitterness goes from the initial taste all through the finish. Bready malt undertones in the flavor, it has a oily mouthfeel. Over all not a bad IPA, though its not too adventurous. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle bought at the LCBO on Queen’s Quay in Toronto/Canada. Overall a good IPA. A bit too much malt and less hops aroma and flavor for my taste. More bitter hops and less exotic citrus hops. I definitely prefer the Headstock IPA by Nickelbrook. This one has an bit higher alcohol finish and less the hops or malt flavor.

On nitro. Orange amber. With. Thick creamy beige head; aroma is softly sweet fruity(berry)and subtly hoppy notes of wood and Celery ; Flava is mild malt and hops blended nicely sugary sweet notes with slightly toasty notes; feels smooth medium flat b/c of nitro; finishes mild then progressively bitter

Pours clear golden to amber color with a minimal head. Aroma ist mainly floral and pine, with a hint of citrus. Quite herby taste with a nice maltiness and a narrow, short lasting bitterness. A bit to herby for my taste, but otherwise ok.

Clear dark golden. Foamy white head. Smells of cleaning product and malt. Bready, hoppy, lots of aroma. Strong bitterness, lasting. Good.

The color was orangey amber with a foamy off white head. Its head slowly fades to just a thin covering of bubbles. Hops attack the nose with spruce pine, resin and light citrusy hop aromas. The flavor hits your tongue with bold piney and citrusy hop flavors. Malt flavor lies underneath and offers some balance with a mildly sweet and bready tone. The palate has a slightly oily smooth texture with a medium body and soft carbonation.

Ambré claire dorée, limpide. Mousse beige assez persistante. Carbonation moyenne. Goût houblonné frais, citrique. Fort goût de malt toasté rallongeant la fin de bouche. Fin de bouche sèche et grande amertume persistante. IPA atypique, de part sa clarté-limpidité, et de par son fort goût de malts.
