4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
It poured a deep cloudy orange and gave the same color body. A beautiful half inch white head forms and lasts for a good minute before gently dieing into the body. Nice ringy foamy spider web lacing speckles the sides and clings to the pint glass. The smell has strong tones of pine, citrus and hops. There are some slight malts coming out as the beer warms. The taste takes the previously mentioned smells and gives more of a earthiness to it. I like it. The palate is about a medium and feels great on the tongue. Overall, this is an excellent choice of an American IPA. I didn’t think I would like this one as much, but this is solid for me and its style.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
330ml bottle served in a tulip glass.
A: Pours a dark orange color forming a medium thin bubbled white head with medium retention forming lots of thin and lingering lacings in the glass
S: Great nose. Very flowery, mainly piny and a bit citrus hops profile. Strong notes of caramel and crystal malts. Well hidden 7.3% ABV
T: Slightly sweet upfront. Strong notes of caramel, roasted malts, crystal and caramel malts. Biscuity. Good hoppy bitterness and a persistent and lingering dry end
M: Medium body. Medium carbonation. Smooth texture: Southern Tier water quality has to be mentioned. Toffee and piny aftertaste
O: Great drinkability. As good as their Live APA that I’ve tasted just before this one...

Tap at yard house on nitro. Copper with thick creamy white head and good lacing. Smells piney. Bitter and slightly floral. Finishes with strong bite. Full bodied. Well done from a great brewery, but certainly not their best.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Medium gold with a thin white lacy lasting head. Fresh zesty and fruity with soft grass and caramel. Sweet taste of malt with lots of hops to the touch and lasting citrus bitterness. A bit thin initially than has a nice hoppy hit on the end.

"this is pretty much a classic example of an american ipa. BIG hop aroma (if you told me it was a double, I wouldn’t have argued). Nice hop profile. Big and juicy. Decent body. Flavor is very good, lots of pine and citrus with some malt balance. well done."

Copper amber, white head. Good balance between citrus and piney hops. Medium body, somewhat tangy. Very refreshing!

Drinking at home in a thin tulip glass. For some reason this smells like a lager to me. I know it’s a strange comment. I haven’t had any lagers in this glass in case you were thinking transference.
Looks good, built a good sized head which stuck for 5 minutes. Fallen down now.
Crisp taste with a lighter body than some Ipas. Hops provide a background but don’t come out as the main flavour. Alcoholy taste in the middle and a pale malty after taste. Could probably drink this as a session.
Drinking without evaluation reveals some citrussy pineapple flavours that don’t stick around very long.
It is light on the tongue and doesn’t leave a heavy taste. Drier than many Ipas and leaves a bitterness.
I would drink this again if the mood struck me, but not for a long while. Closer to an Apa.

On tap in a shaker. Its also in Japanese restaurant where the smell of teriyaki overwhelms me so maybe the actual aroma is better than I’m getting. Light golden color with a frothy beige head. Aroma is grapefruit, pine, hops and a very distinct caramel malt sweetness. Flavor is hop forward, pine, resin, and a little bit of malt sweetness. Medium carbonation. Fairly Well balanced but I think a little more malt in this would go a good ways. Very Solid IPA.

On nitro at Anvil Pub in Deep Ellum. Pours a nice golden color with creamy white head. Citrus and pine on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes with some sweetness.
