This is better when it is on tap, but still good out of a bottle. swiseman (210), Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada

This beer is packed with flavours of nuts, fruit and caramel with a moderate amount of hop finish. definitely on the light-bodied side making it a very easy-drinking IPA. I visited a Comfort Inn in Jamestown, NY and the mart across the street was selling it. I picked it up b/c I love IPAs. The bartender at the Comfort Inn told me about them. So, here goes my first taste of Southern Tier. Pours a nice orange. Little foam. Malty smell, bitter hop aroma. Piney bitter hop aroma. Here goes the taste. WOW, was not expecting this! That’s a good IPA! Piney, bitter, yet sweet and malty. Very delicious! A nice feel in your mouth, then the after taste is just wow! Very bitter! I like this, very good, well done Southern Tier. maniac4016 (114), bill clinton, Iceland

The aroma is well balanced between a caramel malt sweetness and a very citusy hop character.
The taste is also pretty well balanced, but does emphasize the citrusy hop flavour. The flavour is initially bready, like crackers or buttery biscuits. The hops flavour is pretty intense, and is floral as well as lemony. Orange peel comes to mind. The aftertaste is very bitter and citrusy. A refreshing and complicated taste to say the least.
Great creamy mouthfeel. A medium body with a soft medium carbonation.
Extremely drinkable.
