COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
IPA stands for India Pale Ale and ours is an American version of the classic style. IPA’s namesake lies in its colonial roots. British soldiers on their way to India dark a lot of beer, but found it would go stale on the long voyages. Meanwhile, brewers knew that by adding more hops, the beer would stay fresh. Voila! A new style was born and it is one we are proud to brew. Southern Tier IPA is a triple-hopped on its journey to your glass for a fully aromatic experience.

Very smooth...quite low hop character for an IPA. Definitely a decent drinker.

Growler fill served in a pint glass. A - Crystal clear amber with a huge foamy white head. Retention and lacing are average. S - Citrus, minty herbal aroma, sweet pale malt, hints of floral and light caramel. Very clean aroma. T - Follows the nose with minty herbal hops, sharp rustic floral, some citrus laced in with pale and light caramel malts holding ground. Some dirty hop bitterness, grapefruit rind comes out on a dry and semi bitter finish. M - Medium carbonation, wet upfront but finishes dry on the back end. Pretty good price on a growler fill up. Dirty and clean levels of flavor and bitterness. This is their best beer in my opinion. A good choice when your in the south western NY area. Serving type: growler 08-27-2012

Copper-coloured with a little head that still leaves lacing on the glass. The aroma is mostly piny and raisiny. Feels pretty dry in the mouth at first and finishes sticky, syrupy and a little soapy. Pretty sweet and solid malt body, mediumly bitter hops.

Being somewhat new to trying different beers ( I was traditionally an "American" Beer drinker with only drinking Bud Light, Busch, etc... this beer threw me off guard. I enjoyed the hoppy taste but it did take a few sips to get used to it. Overall a well rounded beer.

Serving: from bottle--purchased at Full Throttle Bottles. Aroma: moderate floral hops and light grapefruit aroma. Appearance: large, rocky, off-white, initial head with fair lacing and mostly diminishing longevity. Clear, medium-amber body. Taste: lightly bitter initial flavor and lightly sour, grapefruit-like finish with long duration. Palate: medium-to-full bodied with oily texture and soft carbonation. Overall: excellent. Great hoppy aroma, but not excessively bitter.

Bottle. Light amber, slightly cloudy color. Sharp hop bite on palate but overlasting. Minor malt taste, mostly hop. Minimial hop aroma.
