The aroma is well balanced between a caramel malt sweetness and a very citusy hop character.
The taste is also pretty well balanced, but does emphasize the citrusy hop flavour. The flavour is initially bready, like crackers or buttery biscuits. The hops flavour is pretty intense, and is floral as well as lemony. Orange peel comes to mind. The aftertaste is very bitter and citrusy. A refreshing and complicated taste to say the least.
Great creamy mouthfeel. A medium body with a soft medium carbonation.
Extremely drinkable.

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jan 8, 2010 Bottled. An amber and orange with medium white head. Aroma is big flowers and a ton of caramel. Flavors are similar with lighter citrus added. A good afternoon brew--doesn’t ask too much of its drinker but doesn’t ask too little either... It has a fluffy white froth and it’s not transparent and not too hazy. My only qualm is that it is a little thin for me. It could use a little more kick I think. A little more bite and this would be one of my top beers, regardless of style. From my overall rating you can see this is only a minor complaint, though. Seasoned IPA drinkers and beginners alike could enjoy this equally. thorongil2 (82), , Ontario, Canada

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 31, 2009 Bottle. A hazy dark golden beer with a huge, frothy, creamy, mostly lasting white head. Nice aroma, moderately malty and hoppy with notes of caramel, flowers. pine, resin. There is enough malt depth to balance the hops. The flavour is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Perhaps sweeter and maltier than the average American IPA. Medium body, lively carbonation, dry long finish with medium bitterness. No thrill, but well crafted. yngwie (5089), Kristiansand, Norway
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 28, 2009 Bottle, 12oz. A clear golden body with a minimal off-white head sitting on top. Hop-dominated nose with resin, pine cones and grapefruit. The flavor has a nice bitterness as well as the resiny, grapefruity elements found in the aroma. Wonderful bitterness in the finish. Full body. A quenching, easy drinkable beer. 090828 neuromatt (3), Ontario, Canada does not count | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 27, 2009 12 oz. bottle, served in tulip. Clear amber with rocky white head and moderate lacing. Aroma of pine and grapefruit. Light-medium body, dry with good carbonation. Bitter hops dominate through to long hop finish. This bottle was quite fresh and crisp. A good example overall, but could use some more malt and a bit more in the body.
