COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Three thousand feet above sea level in the misty mountains of Jamaica, some of the worlds finest Arabica beans are hand picked on their way to becoming Blue Mountain Coffee. Halfway around the world, plump spring barley grows to maturity in the loamy soil of North America while aromatic hops are cutivated to exacting standards. Here in our kettles, these three special ingredients are blended to create a heady mixture of sweet sugar, dark roast, and complex flavor. Please enjoy this brew in moderation.

Sweet, chocolate, light molasses and black olive aroma, with vaporous alcohol and a light perfume. Black brew, opaque, no head to speak of, good label on the 22 oz bomber. Rich, sweet, mouthy, sturdy west coast hops, cocoa. Warming -- this is a sipping beer, not a quaffing brew -- drink it too fast and there’s a burn under your diaphragm. Pleasant but assertive roast and hop bitterness. Frothy mouthfeel. Tangy, acidic finish with bitter, dark cocoa. Picked this up at a fire sale at Market Square Liquors, alas, they’ve since sold out of the promos.

Bottle. At least a year old, possibly two. Pours a deep black with a slowly developing large tan head that slowly deflates. Sweet cocoa, coffee and malt with a bit of roast on the background. Medium bodied, roast and a bit of oxidization right up front. Sweet plum and prune, cocoa, chocolate, malt, and roast. Quite sweet, lots of coffee, cocoa and chocolate. Long sweet cocoa, roast, coffee on the finish. Big and a touch boozy, with a good bit of plum and prunes, but still tasty and drinks well.

Second Southern Tier imperial stout I’ve had this weekend. Smell is pretty light in this for the style. Pours pretty black, without much head. Aroma has coffee taste and some vanilla. Sweet and bitter in the taste. Strong alcohol taste.

Bomber. Pours an opaque black. Frothy chocolate head that dissipates. Aroma is nice blend of coffee, toffee and sweet roast chocolate malt. Tast is very much the same, sweet malt, but balanced by the bitter coffee. Very nice stout, great after dinner or nightcap! Another winner from the Imperial Series of Southern Tier!

The nose is coffee, strong coffee. The beer is pitch black with no head. Bittersweet, coffee roast will with malt sweetness. Thick and syrupy with a long bittersweet finish.

UPDATED: OCT 12, 2012 Sweet smell of mocha coffee. Small head and thick black texture. Tastes of sweet coffee. Not much roast, mostly sweet like the rest of the ST stouts. Pretty good, but prefer the Mokah blend. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft to snifter. Looks good; black with tan head that dissipates into sticky lacing. Smells good; malt and coffee. Tastes like it smells with a semi-sweet backbone. Average on the palate. Good beer!
