4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Hot, but beautiful!
Beer pours an opaque oily black-brown with a small, light brown, frothy, mostly and rapidly diminishing head. High ABV is visable as long legs on the glass. The aroma is big on the coffee: malty with heavy notes of roasted grain, genuine dark-roasted coffee beans, moderate chocolate and light molasses; hoppy with heavy notes of resin/pine, moderate notes of herbs, light notes of green grass; yeasty with a trace of dough; miscellaneous notes of heavy, hot notes of alcohol, light notes of top soil.
The flavor is heavily bittersweet with a long, tummy-warming, moderately sweet, lightly bitter and acidic finish.
The body is full, the texture is velvety-syrupy and the carbonation is softer-than-average.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Opaque, little head. Aroma is roasted malt and almost overpowering isopropyl alcohol. Taste is soy, roasted malts, slight oxidation. Alcohol is probably too much. Slightly acidic, coffee in there as well. Finish is very bitter from hops and roasted malt. Something went wrong here.

4.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Chocolate, molasses and roasted notes in the nose. Beautiful jet black with dark red brown head. Sticky sweet palate with alcohol, dark fruit, a bit of malt and hops. Finish is a bit sweet. There are alot of pretenders in this category but this one is the real deal.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Clean malt and a smooth chocolate flavour. A touch of licorice but not as much coffee on the palate as I was expecting. Nice dark frothy head and a jet black colour. Very well balanced considering the abv. Smoothly hopped. A pleasant discovery.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Tons of coffee in the aroma, a nice light-roasted coffee with some chocolate. Dark black in appearance with a bit of brown around the edges and a thin, brown head. Tons of coffee flavor, nice warming note of alcohol and chocolate in the finished. Well balanced, not to bitter but not to sweet. Medium body, slightly creamy mouthfeel. Thanks to whoever shared this one.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pretty good stuff. Pours a chocolate black and has a bit of red earth head. Aroma is acidic coffee, roasted malt, earth, and hints of burnt chocolate. Flavor is acidic coffee with little chocolate. This one has a huge hop character that really defines the brew... and a bit of malt show through as well. Mouthfeel is a bit lighter than I would have liked...and also...kind of acidic. It doesn’t taste like a 12% beer. Pretty good stuff.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured into a snifter. Ominous, oily black. A vigorous pour only conjured up a bit of head that faded quickly. The aroma comes off like the coffee isle in the local grocery store. The 12% abv is obvious. Lots of roast, some underlying chocolate, and plenty bitter. The palate is full and rich, but the carbonation makes each drink very abrasive. The coffee is long lasting, and I do like that. I would love to know what technique that used when adding it, so I can copy.

3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Thick and syrupy deep black with a barely noticible and quickly dissolving brown head. The alcohol dominates (even more than one expects from the 12% abv). IMO the beer is an inferior cross between a DFH WWS and a 9% abv russian imperial stout.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a dark black color with a huge dense brown head. Initial aroma of Celebrator, of all things... As the beer warms, there’s an aroma and taste of bittersweet chocolate that battles with the coffee beans for dominance. Body is thick, but not overly syrupy. Alcohol is well hidden. An excellent brew.
