4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle. [thank you Yespr]
Wow... wow... WOW. Why is this not in the top 50? Pours pitch-black with slight red edges and a great big creamy head. Perhaps I need a spoon for this head? Aroma is brilliant, vinious, cocoa and lots of coffee. Thankfully this is a great coffee, lending a distinct mildness to the brew, not the usual coffee tartness. Mouthfeel is stunningly creamy, much like a much softer oatmeal stout. Flavour is no let-down. Much like a Kaggen (as Yespr said), though not quite as complex. Lots of cocoa, I am surprised that this hasnít been oak aged, actually. Brilliant balance and super softness. If I have to critique the almost perfect, then it might be the slightly up-turned ABV, lending the beer a slight alcohol burn in the finish. But this is really a minor niggle - truly stunning!

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Black with a red hue. Lasting tan head. Aroma of chocolate and licorice, with rich toffee malt. Nicely subdued coffee beans. Very sweet and slightly sugary flavour. Roasted flavours and again, some nice coffee notes, but the overall impression is terribly cloying sweetness, and quite a bit of alcohol.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Courtesy of Nbutler11, thanks Nick. It is pitch black with a small, light-brown, creamy head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, coffee, licorice, dark fruits, sweetness and preserved figs. The flavour has a light sweetness and notes of roasted malt, coffee, licorice and dark, preserved fruit. I had hoped for a more pure taste of coffee, and IMO it is the overall impression very heavy Ė nice, but not nearly what I hoped for.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bomber from Wine Specialist. Brown/black color with a moderate tan head. Aroma of coffee and treacle. Full bodied with creamy carbonation. Flavor is coffee to the extreme with dark toasted malt and treacle. The finish is sweet, but balanced with toasted, burnt malt. I canít integrate the hop, but it seems to be there to help with the balance. Drink this and die (i.e., see Naples and die).
