Southern Tier Jah-va

Pours black with an average sized, light brown head with great lacing. Has an aroma of strong coffee and alcohol with a slight note of chocolate. Has a strong coffee flavor with a slight chocolate undertone. Creamy Texture. Overall i’d say its a decent, unique beer and a coffee lover’s dream.

Picked up a single 22-oz bomber at Riley’s World of Wines in downtown Madison, WI. Pours an opaque dark brown brew with a thick tan head that slowly disappears to a fine film and tan ring. Aroma of heavy coffee that over powers most of the dark malt and any hop character. Taste is full bodied, lightly carbonated and has flavors of roasted dark malt, coffee, a touch of chocolate and some dark pitted fruits. Finish has a nice roasted dark malt and coffee aftertaste that lingers past the finish.

Pours very dark brown with a short lasting mocha brown head that leaves a little bit of lacing. Smells heavily of roasted malts and coffee with plenty of powedered cocoa and some cream. Tastes more pleasantly cocoa like than Choklat did to me. It makes me think of a hybrid between hot cocoa and coffee with lots of roastiness. I personally prefer this to Choklat by leaps and bounds but I think I’m in the minority on that one. Mouth feel is medium but its a little over carbonated for my taste. A pretty good, coffee imperial stout.

Bottle; rating 1200. Dark brown in color with a small to medium, short lasting khaki head. Aroma of roasted malt with pronounced coffee undertones; some toffee and cocoa notes. Enjoyed the coffee in the flavor, definitely done with some moderation; I’m not a big coffee fan. With some warmth, the coffee did come out to play a bit more. Alcohol well hidden, only the slightest touch of throat warming. A careful balance between bitter and sweet components. Found it to be a bit oaty, which I liked. Overall it was very good and easy to drink.

This is more of a Vanilla Stout. Aroma is milk and coffee with loads of vanilla. Taste is the same with some milk chocolate and roasted coffee beans. Palate is super sweet but not cloying. Slightly carbonated but enough to offset the sweetness.

This stuff is awesome taste just like a cup of espresso rich dark pour nice off white head extreme amounts of coffee roasted grains ever so slight amount of carbonation i couldnt even taste the alchohol in here very very very f’ng good. Sex in a Bottle!
