Commercial Description:
Three thousand feet above sea level in the misty mountains of Jamaica, some of the worlds finest Arabica beans are hand picked on their way to becoming Blue Mountain Coffee. Halfway around the world, plump spring barley grows to maturity in the loamy soil of North America while aromatic hops are cutivated to exacting standards. Here in our kettles, these three special ingredients are blended to create a heady mixture of sweet sugar, dark roast, and complex flavor. Please enjoy this brew in moderation.

Black with a red hue. Lasting tan head. Aroma of chocolate and licorice, with rich toffee malt. Nicely subdued coffee beans. Very sweet and slightly sugary flavour. Roasted flavours and again, some nice coffee notes, but the overall impression is terribly cloying sweetness, and quite a bit of alcohol.

(Bottle, Stockholm Beer Festival, 25 Sep 2009) Black colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of freshly ground heavily roasted coffee and dark bread. Roasted, malty taste with fresh coffee and some dark bread. Generous coffee bitterness. Almost full body, with some alcohol sweetness. Smooth, rounded mouthfeel hides the alcohol quite well. It’s fairly one dimensional, but if you love your coffee strong, black and freshly ground, this beer is absolutely lovely. Impressive beer!

bottle courtesy of msante79, thanks man! pours thick black and requires a very, i mean very vigorous pout for a nice creamy brown 2 finger head. nose is mostly really good, fresh coffee. delicous! has tons of chewy resins and flavors going on. tons of roast, some char, lots of coco, some oatyness, and p[lanty of creminess! mouthfeel is amazing as usual with these is’s, full and bold with bitter burnt notes up front, very creamy full mouthfeel fading to an unbelievably smooth finish and a bitter/sweet aftertaste. very nice! again, very smooth for 11%, you can drink this like a milkshake. i’m liking the enamaled bottle also!

Bomber sampled side by side with the mokah and the chokolat. Pours a thiner clearer mahogany with fair tan head. Better as it warms, but this has a spicy, old coffee bean note. but really kinda boring over all. And I just don’t think this is a very good coffee stout. Hides the alcohol just fine though.
