yespr (11613), Copenhagen O, Denmark Jan 17, 2008 Updated: Jan 19, 2008holy of all mother, for a coffe lover like me this is fantastic, best of the evening, clearly knocked out three top 50 brews during the evening. 75 cL bottle, trade with ygtbsm94. Pours almost pitch black with dense chocolate brown head. Chocolate and coffee aroma, alcohol presence. Flavour is a lovely blend of coffee and a smooth chocolate, yet with a nice alcohol warmth. Very smooth and just keeps lingering. Fantastic, reminds me a lot of kaggen stormagtsporter! This is a top 50 brew in my book. Grovlam (3790), Copenhagen, Denmark Jan 17, 2008 Bottle. [Courtesy of yespr, another great session @ yespr] Huge light brown thick and creamy head that really lasted. Excellent lacework Pitch black colour. Aroma of heavy roasted coffee and malt, dark chocolate, hint of liquorish, berries, very vinous. Over the palate warming alcoholic sharpness, sweet chocolate, coffee, oat, hint of what feels like vanilla and wood. Extremely complex and full bodied with a smooth and alcoholic texture and a soft carbonation. Yet some thick oily texture. Heavy sweet with moderated bitter flavour. Lovely lingering vinous and chocolate finish. I thought this was dead on. Cryotek (206), Pawtucket, Rhode Island, USA Jan 12, 2008 Updated: Feb 1, 2008Intense coffe icecream scent, one of the strongest scents i have ever experianced in a beer. Super dark black with a very dark beige, very large disapearingly quickly head. Taste - also one of the boldest, intense tasting beers ever! Mocha latte coffee just screams in the taste. Also tastes like mocha coffee ice cream, roasted coffee beans, creamy sweet, deliciously intense. Thick malty bold mouth filling body. Sweet coffee finish. I can go on, but i will just say this beer is nuts, totally intense and nothing like i have ever tasted. Their Chok stout is chocolately nuts, and this is mocha coffee nuts. Not a traditional hop, malt, barely tasting beer experiance, but one that every beer ratter should try, amazing! TheRealBastard (141), The-No, California, USA Jan 12, 2008 Updated: Aug 26, 2008Batch 1: Incredibly dense, and heavy. Pours super dark and has a very potent coffee odor on the nose. This is my favorite stout from southern tier, even over the oat. The powerful coffee flavor makes this a winner in my book. Very highly recommened. Thanks ST!! BuckeyeBoy (1639), Boise, Idaho, USA Jan 11, 2008 22oz Bottle with big thanks from mkgrenwel for sending this GEM. WOW what a brew. pours out black topped with a cream tan head. A great coffee aroma. Tast of sweet chocolate and bitter coffee. Very thick and so tasty. Loved this one. I can’t wait to tast some of the others Tom shipped out to me. Bockyhorsey (2487), Mesa, Arizona, USA Jan 10, 2008 22oz bottle from Secret Santa summer 07. Real good sweet chocolate aroma on the nose. Black body with dark tan head. Flavor is a thick rich dose of creamy chocolate and roasted malts. Had some alcohol bitterness in the mix but not a big factor. Body warming was cggod seeing it was a cool damp foggy morning in the desert. Thanks John from Pa. Only santa havn’t really figured out who it was. ogglethorp (882), Ohio, USA Jan 10, 2008 Bottle. Pours inky black with a thin dark yellow/brown head. Aroma is huge wallop of espresso, dark chocolate, peat, burnt sugar, molasses. Flavor profile matches the aroma, more espresso, molasses, burnt suger, chocolate. Palate is massive, sans carbonation, finishes on the bitter side, with a huge, sticky, syrupy mouthfeel. Awesome. turbo (1254), Arizona, USA Jan 10, 2008 Black with thick, creamy dark chocolate head.
Aroma and flavor is rich roasted coffee, dark chocolate, brown suger and alcohol.
Body is rich and thick and lays heavy on the palate. Nice alcohol warming kick.
