Commercial Description:
Three thousand feet above sea level in the misty mountains of Jamaica, some of the worlds finest Arabica beans are hand picked on their way to becoming Blue Mountain Coffee. Halfway around the world, plump spring barley grows to maturity in the loamy soil of North America while aromatic hops are cutivated to exacting standards. Here in our kettles, these three special ingredients are blended to create a heady mixture of sweet sugar, dark roast, and complex flavor. Please enjoy this brew in moderation.

22 oz bottle. Brewed 11/22/05. Pours thick and almost black; with some coaxing a beautiful crema head. Nose is rich and cakey with dark chocolate, coffee and molasses. Thick, really thick. Carmelized orange tang and whiskey counter the heavy body. Meanwhile more chocolate and strong sweetened black coffee. Close to two years and still a beast. Gets a little cloying or is it just sensory overload.

22 oz bottle, 2006. Enjoyed with friends on Labor Day. Oily dark pour with a light head. Great aroma. It’s all about dessert. Tons of chocolate covered espresso beans are what comes to mind with a little alcohol mixed in. Yum. The flavor is every bit as good as the aroma would leave you to believe. Tons of chocolate and coffee, but there are other enjoyable flavors in there as well (though I didn’t take notes on those). Body is spot on for this one…Silky and coating. Flavors really linger. I’ve got to get more. Finally, I can’t believe how well this aged. I’ve just had it in my garage for over a year and it was still in great shape.

Pours a beautiful opaque black with a dark tan head into the snifter. There was lacing with some hints of golden color sticking around. The scent was of espresso, coffee, chocoate and roasted nuts. There was a strong coffee flavor to accompany the malt and roasted nuts. Very warming and coating mouthfeel. Excellent imperial stout.

bottle poured a motor oil black so dark there is no light that could get through. smell is dark malts, coffee, dates, and some sweetness. taste is thick on the malts, nice coffee tones, slightly creamy, and a little bitter on the finish. overdone perhaps in the malts for my tastes or perhaps too many directions it is going. good imperial but not the best out there. definitely warmed up to it on the second glass, and the 12% is not to be tasted.

Poured pitch black with a thin dark tan head. Smelled wonderful, coffee, cream, sugar. Taste came together very nicely. Started with sweet chocolate, coffee, roasty grain, then finished with nice hops and roast. This brew is not the best coffee stout out there, but it is still a great brew. I would buy this again.

Very sweet and chocolatey nose with typical coffee and some woody dark malt notes. Opaque black body is topped by a decent though fizzy brown head that recedes rapidly to a partial cover. Somewhat cloying in it’s sweetness the coffee and chocolate verge on overwhelming. Full body with velvety smooth texture and low carbonation. Definite alcohol warming - this one is pretty hot. I can’t help but think that higher carbonation would make this seem less heavy, lees, hot and less sweet. Who knew that sweet, hot and heavy could be too much of a good thing? Bottle sampled with Altair, beerbuzzmontreal, Cathschlag, Glouglouburp, Goldorak, MartinT, muzzlehatch and Yowie.
