| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 19, 2007 This dark brown ale required a vigorous pour to produce a decent brown head. The aroma is an enticing blend of chocolate and coffee. It tastes like a very nice after dinner coffee drink, with just the right amount of sweetness and coffee flavor, along with a noticeable but not overwhelming alcoholic finish. pantani (1902), Salinas, California, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Oct 11, 2006 22oz bomber courtesy of ABUSEDGOAT, brewed November 22, 2005. Pours a thick oily black with a small yellow brown head. Huge aroma of coffee and dark chocolate, brown sugar, also a bit of woody earthy char. Flavor is much the same with a very small bit of acidity. Taste is much the same--my girlfriend really liked it. Big fat roasty coffee finish with mild bitterness. There is some ETOH presence, as is expected from a 12% brew, though I wouldn’t think it to be that high. Very thick body, low-mod carbonation. This one isn’t terribly complex (as in exhibiting 18 aromas and flavors), but the roasty coffee is pretty damn good. emacgee (1892), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA

Thanks bmartin. Pour is a beautiful dark black with little to no head, wispy chestnut brown. Managed to coax a one finger brown creamy head. The aroma is extremely rich, woody, bourbon, molasses, chocolate, coffee, light alcohol. The flavor is extremely big, very thick and sweet, rich roasty chocolate, coffee, molasses, feels like motor oil, berries, alcohol is mild and warming, bourbon, and some waxy hops at the back of the mouth. Fantastic palate, one of the best imperial stouts I’ve ever had. Beerdedone (1888), Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 23, 2008 Bottle. Pours pitch black with a light tan frothy head that leaves some spotty lacing. Aroma of roasted coffee, chocolate, dark malts and a hint of vanilla. Flavor is creamy and smooth and very intense with rich roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, warming alcohol and a touch of molasses. Medium to full bodied with low carbonation and has a nice dry bitter finish. Awesome brew nearbeer (1887), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Mar 31, 2009 22 oz. Pitch with a small ring of foam. Aromas of espresso, cream and vanilla. Flavors of espresso, caramel, cream, cocoa liqueur, oats. A bit harsh with coffee and alcohol on the finish, but still a good brew. Medium-heavy body is acidic-tingly, slighty watery but still somehow sticky on the finish. Mostly smooth carbonation with some small flareups.
