Commercial Description:
Three thousand feet above sea level in the misty mountains of Jamaica, some of the worlds finest Arabica beans are hand picked on their way to becoming Blue Mountain Coffee. Halfway around the world, plump spring barley grows to maturity in the loamy soil of North America while aromatic hops are cutivated to exacting standards. Here in our kettles, these three special ingredients are blended to create a heady mixture of sweet sugar, dark roast, and complex flavor. Please enjoy this brew in moderation.

from crackedkettle.com - dark black coloured with a poor head retention; solid aroma of coffee with notes of cold ashes; creamy mouthfeel, powerful malt body and with a robust bitterness; nutty and malty roasted coffeish finish

Black in color, small khaki brown head and lace. Nose of fresh roasted coffee beans, sweet, fresh malted barley, chocolate, alcohol, some dark fruit notes but not much. Reminicent of speedway aroma. Thick body, viscous, rich, sweet malt, chewy and luscious as hell. Followed by the onslaught of coffee and hop bitterness but soon after, the flavors meld, the bitterness of the hop and acidity of the coffee take a bite out of the sweetness a bit and some chocolate emerges. The alcohol just adds some warmth as it goes down. Then the hop burps finish this bad boy off. Excellent, intense brew. Definitley not for candy asses or coffee haters. A good brew to share for the sweetness might get to you after a while, especially as it warms.

Pours a dark black color with a huge dense brown head. Initial aroma of Celebrator, of all things... As the beer warms, there’s an aroma and taste of bittersweet chocolate that battles with the coffee beans for dominance. Body is thick, but not overly syrupy. Alcohol is well hidden. An excellent brew.

Bomber from Wine Specialist. Brown/black color with a moderate tan head. Aroma of coffee and treacle. Full bodied with creamy carbonation. Flavor is coffee to the extreme with dark toasted malt and treacle. The finish is sweet, but balanced with toasted, burnt malt. I can’t integrate the hop, but it seems to be there to help with the balance. Drink this and die (i.e., see Naples and die).

22oz. Bottle. Pours a midnight black in color with a frothy tan head. The aroma is of sweet chocolate and fresh coffee. The flavor is of the same mixed with a bit of hops and lots of alcohol. This beer really sweetens up as it warms also, the alcohol becomes much more evident. This brew definitely wams up a cool night. A great beer for the coffee geeks among us beer snobs.

Thanks to the STL crew for sharing this fine imperial stout. Pours oily black with an orange head. The aroma has the perfect marriage of dark malt, creamy chocolate, mocha and rich cream. Full rich body that is oily and creamy and has low carbonation. The flavor starts out with dark chocolate, some roasted malt, dark fruits, cream and sweetened mocha. The finish has some light bitterness from roast and coffee. While I’m generally not a big fan of coffee beers this was done exceptionally well. Big thumbs up to this world class brew.

Black, no head. Great aroma - Dark chocolate and coffee, as one might expect, but also a creamy, milky note, too. Maybe a nice whiff of vanilla in the background, too. The flavor is nicely sweet, and the chocolate notes give the coffee notes some competition for dominance. Some alcohol in the finish. Sampled at Noogfest2.

Poured black with a decent brown head and nice brown legs. Mmm sexy (in funny voice). Let me start off by saying all the sweetness in this beer shocked my nose and mouth a little after having the 6 previous stouts. I think I was a little surprised and hard on the score for that reason. But on this sitting thats the way it goes. Lucky for me I have more and can dedicate a full night to it. Roasted aroma with a pretty good amount of sweetness. Nice amount of coffee. Doesn’t come across over the top or become too roasted. Mouthfeel continues with another good dose of sweetness in the roasted malt. Light coffee could be found underneath it. Finish had a nice light bitterness. Full-bodied with a nice silky mouthfeel.
