Draft at brewpub. Dark amber color with sticky lacing. Aroma of sweet malt and pine hops. Taste of malty sweetness with bitter hop finish. Very unique brew for being called an imperial lager. Quite good

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tap pours a clear deep orange gold with two fingers of beige foam that leaves lots of lacing. The aroma is earthy hoppy more piney than figured. The flavor is rich golden grains with a bitter contrast. Very bold oily resinous hops, very light dried tropical fruits under it all. Ok for a hop forward beer of a malty style.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Tap at Bulldog Uptown. Served up in a sturdy pint glass. Dark golden color which is expected given the style. Faint aroma. Initial sip comes across more bitter than anticipated. Heavy handed on hops and reminiscent of the oily essence of hops. Expected some balanced sweet/spice but getting next to nothing. Hard to believe it’s such a high alcohol content. This one puts a small kramp in a very good brewery’s style.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tap. At bulldog uptown. Clear dark gold. Aroma is not nearly as aggressive as the flavor. Bitter, oily hop taste, resin and pine. strong. Alcohol is well hidden. Lasting hop presence. Expected some other spices for some reason. Good, not great. A decent hoppy beer for the southern tier fan.

Pours clear amber with small tan head out of bomber. Aroma of citrus, grain, and hops with maybe a slight hint of caramel. Herbal taste with a dry finish. Leaves a citrus taste on your tongue. Great beer...better than I expected.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
650 ml. Clear golden-amber with a lasting film of bubbles. Aroma is citrus zest, dry grass and menthol liqueur, maybe a touch of caramel. Taste is menthol and boozy lemon hard candy with touches of citrus zest and dry grass. Medium body finishes mineral-dry and wooden with a nice warming alcohol presence. Carbonation is pretty smooth. Well crafted, but the wooden and mint-tinged hop mix seems to only amplify the abv to my tastebuds.
