Draft at brewpub. Dark amber color with sticky lacing. Aroma of sweet malt and pine hops. Taste of malty sweetness with bitter hop finish. Very unique brew for being called an imperial lager. Quite good

I was expecting something Christmasy but it wasn't. Smooth with a little flavor. Nothing too exciting.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
650 ml bottle from Niagara Falls Wegmans. Pours a clear orange/amber with modest-sized white head. Aroma is toasty grains, piney/citrusy hops, candy sugar and a little floral character. Flavour is quite sweet with lots of candy sugar, grapefruity and resiny hops, even some flowers, as well as an underlying toasty character. Lighter carbonation. Average plus body. Quite nice.

poured into tulip glass an orange Amber with almost no head just some bubbles on glass edge that stayed In Place as you poured. Aroma was pine, carmel malts. Taste was the same with a bitter pine finish that lasted. Nicely done.

Bottle. I’ve had this countless times. Not sure why I haven’t rated it yet. Colour...slightly hazy Amber with a thin white head. Nose...bright hops and sugared grapefruit with citron and some piney notes to boot. Palate...dry, at first, and rather bitter, with sharply flavoured hops that couple with grapefruit skins and candied citrus. Boiled tropical sweets hit the mid palate and are followed by Connecticut shade and cedar notes on the lengthy bitter finish. Ahhhhh...zehr gut! Froeliche Weinachten!
