COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
St. Nicholas, aka Santa Claus, is a magical figure, the bringer of gifts and an icon of holiday spirit. Forgotten by most is his evil side kick and enforcer of Ďthe listí. European tradition says while St. Nick is busy delivering presents to good little boys and girls, Krampus hands out punishments to the bad. A fanged, goat-horned bully, the Christmas Devil uses sticks and chains to beat the naughty children. Dark malts and aromatic hops create the diabolical spirit of this brew. It is finished with lager yeast and aged cold for no less than 30 days. This Imperial Helles Lager will warm even the darkest hearts. This season, replace the cookies with a bottle of Krampus. If he happens to pay a visit, toast to him with this devilish brew. Merry Kramp-mas to all, and to all a good pint!

Gawd... This stuff is awful. Huge plastic/chlorine/chemical aroma. Smells like a dump truck full of melted plastic unloaded itself in a public swimming pool. Taste is overly syrupy and boozy with plenty of chemical, solvent and fusel alcohol. Sticky, cloying texture with a lasting, hot, alcohol-laden, naaaaaaasty finish. Krampus *may* be worse than the train wreck that was Farmer Tan. At any rate, these guys need to STOP MAKING imperial-ish lagers. Fuck this.

Bottle. Copper with thin beige head. Aroma of malt, fruit (pear and citrus), and some sweetness. Medium body with nice carbonation, caramel malt notes, medium sweetness, and a pronounce bitter hop finish.

Iím a little overdue with drinking this one. Pours a clear amber with a medium white head. The aroma has a good amount of caramel and pine, with undertones of lighter spices and ginger. The taste is a bit sweet with some mild bitterness, with pine flavors standing out the most. Some citrus elements of lemon and grapefruit are noticed, with caramel remaining quite potent. Mild cinnamon as well. Aftertaste is a short and piney. Medium in body, with a thick texture, with softer carbonation. This one isnít bad. I canít really find many holiday or wintery impressions in here though.

Rated on 02-19-2010 (Bottle) This beer forms a medium off-white head that mostly diminishes, hazy amber body, visible carbonation, and a good amount of lacing. The Aroma is malty, very aromatic, citrus, and some pine hops. The Taste is lightly bitter, caramel malt, and citrus hops. The Palate is tingly carbonation and this beer is medium bodied. In conclusion, this beer is one for the hopheads as the hops definitely make their presence known.

Associated Cityfresh, Bushwick growler: Pours a copperish amber with a white head. Aroma is pretty hoppy, somewhat piny, some light caramel style malts. Taste is quite bitter. Also somewhat lightly sweet. Hard to drink quickly. This is well-made but it ainít my favourite.

Pours with a creamy long lasting head. Hoppy aroma. Flavor is highlighted with hops followed by a tasty, smooth maltiness.

Growler from the Craft Ale House in Limerick. Clear copper color with a soft and bubbly white head. The head leaves a cascading, sticky lace around the edges of the glass. Bright hops in the nose along with some hint of roasted malts. Clean and crisp flavors, with plenty of grassy and dry hops. I also tasted some caramel malt and some roasted malt flavors. Very clean and dry finish with more bitter hops in the aftertaste. Excellent imperial helles / pilsener.

This beer was packaged nicely and had a high alcohol content. After that it kinda goes down hill. The worth a try but donít expect anything earth moving
