COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
St. Nicholas, aka Santa Claus, is a magical figure, the bringer of gifts and an icon of holiday spirit. Forgotten by most is his evil side kick and enforcer of ‘the list’. European tradition says while St. Nick is busy delivering presents to good little boys and girls, Krampus hands out punishments to the bad. A fanged, goat-horned bully, the Christmas Devil uses sticks and chains to beat the naughty children. Dark malts and aromatic hops create the diabolical spirit of this brew. It is finished with lager yeast and aged cold for no less than 30 days. This Imperial Helles Lager will warm even the darkest hearts. This season, replace the cookies with a bottle of Krampus. If he happens to pay a visit, toast to him with this devilish brew. Merry Kramp-mas to all, and to all a good pint!

Original review date 12/3/2008... 22 oz. into Duvel tulip... Beautiful, ginger-colored, 2-finger head that’s very chewy and bready. Beautiful bonze/copper body with moderate carbonation and nice lacing. head has moderate staying power. Awesome oily, floral hops...the dry-hopping yielded great results. Excellent grapefruit citrus tones backed by light-roasted malt backbone with good raw grain character. Light but full nose. Straight-ahead citrus up front with lightly-stewed malt...a little light spice, too (ginger, cinnamon). Roast of various malts emerges with warmth. Not as forceful as on the nose but still extremely pleasant. Definitely a citrus hop bomb with a creamy/oily malt backbone. A little biting but finish is full and bright...oily, oily, oily... Methinks the excess citrus/rind bite precludes extreme drinkability but make no mistake...this is extremely well-done.

Bottle @ Three Notch’d Tasting. Strong stewed apple and spiced caramel aroma. Flavor of toffee bread. More apple. Hot boozy finish. Full body, oily. Pretty sweet. Not my thing.

I was expecting something Christmasy but it wasn't. Smooth with a little flavor. Nothing too exciting. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

650 ml bottle from Niagara Falls Wegmans. Pours a clear orange/amber with modest-sized white head. Aroma is toasty grains, piney/citrusy hops, candy sugar and a little floral character. Flavour is quite sweet with lots of candy sugar, grapefruity and resiny hops, even some flowers, as well as an underlying toasty character. Lighter carbonation. Average plus body. Quite nice.

poured into tulip glass an orange Amber with almost no head just some bubbles on glass edge that stayed In Place as you poured. Aroma was pine, carmel malts. Taste was the same with a bitter pine finish that lasted. Nicely done.

Pours a clear rust orange with light brown head. A nice pine, citrus, and grains. A sweet citrus, fruit, pine, hop, and grain taste. Aftwrtaste starts with light bitter hops and grains but not overpowering.
