Bottle: pours a slightly hazy light orangish color with a big fluffy white head. Citrusy bread aroma. The flavor is a slightly funky citrus. It’s not overpowering, but refreshing with a great body to it.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 nearbeer (3048) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - MAY 19, 2013
Pint on tap, and several 12 oz bottles. Lightly hazy orange-golden with a creamy disc of foam. Aroma is fresh orange, grapefruit, toast, resin and a hint of dank herb. Taste is a great blend of the same. Light-medium body is a bit too fizzy, finishes dry and is very sessionable.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 camborne (287) - Hopkins, Minnesota, USA - MAY 18, 2013

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 BlackIPA (713) - Rochester, New York, USA - MAY 17, 2013
Southern Tier’s first foray into bottle conditioning. Lets see what happens.
Pours a slightly cloudy orange with a white head that has some good retention and lacing. Aromas of citrus and some dirty feet. Taste is muted hops, although yes, they are citrus and not pine, some pretty sweet malt in there and some lasting bitterness. Medium to high carbonation, average mouthfeel. Pretty damn good.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Hammy78 (613) - Dundas, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 16, 2013
Picked up a six pack at the new Village Beer Merchant in Buffalo. Pours a not quite see thru amber colour, fluffy white head, lots of spotty lace. Nose is floral tropical hop, and sweet malts. Tastes bitter, malty, a bit of citrus zest. They never disappoint.
3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 EithCubes (4196) - New Jersey, USA - MAY 15, 2013
Bottle. Nose is brilliant right out of the neck, dazzling orange peel, dank wood and woodsy pine, light floral character, tons of juicy citrus, grapefruit even leaning tropical, mango, pineapple, lychee, some caramel. Lightly hazy but bright yellow, soapy white head. Taste is bone-dry and stripping, light bitterness with a thin malt body that manages to hint at bread by the end. The aromatics are just killer, but there’s no base to support them; would like more bitterness, more caramel or even some crystal (a first!). If they’re going away from tradition, then the yeast has to do more than it’s doing here. Killer hop profile, though!
4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Lemke10 (539) - Janesville, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 15, 2013
This pours a cloudy, golden yellow color with a foamy, beige head. There is a decent amount of citrus and hops in the aroma. This is perhaps a little more watery than I was expecting but it still delivers a great pale ale flavor. Drinks very smoothing making it a great summer beer that doesn’t taste like water. Finishes a little sweet and malty, pretty unique stuff.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Miked1687 (212) - Buffalo, New York, USA - MAY 13, 2013
Poured from a bottle into glass. Hazy orange Amber pour with a foamy white head that retains well. Smells like lemon, hops, some sweet citrus. Taste is hoppy and citrusy. Lemon, malty finish. Medium smooth carbonation. Medium length semi bitter finish.
2.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 cheap (3373) - Cheap Lager in Western, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 13, 2013
Nice lemon hop sharp smell. Cloudy yellah. Taste is rather astringent. Good sizzle saves this stuff. From a bottle. Some fruit in there as the session continues. Ends with a crackle.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Westmeister (926) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - MAY 12, 2013
Bottle. Pours a darker golden cloudy pour with lots of floaties and a minimal head. Smell and taste is bright citrus, a little tropical. Very warm weather friendly, extremely sessionable for a hoppy brew. Just one of the better pale ales I have ever had.
