Oakes (6853), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Feb 8, 2003 First batch, will re-rate after they get settled Amber colour; note of oxidized hops but mostly just water. Very empty. This tastes like something a Canadian brewery would do - make a bland amber ale as their flagship. Disappointing given the brewer's reputation and past products (like Ellicottville Pale). hopscotch (4460), Vero Beach, Florida, USA Nov 4, 2004 I really enjoyed this beer. I’ve only tried about six milds. This would fall in the middle of the pack... my favorite of the style being Moorhouse Black Cat . This is a very light, refreshing amber ale. Small, fizzy, off-white head. Crisp, clean aroma and perfectly balanced flavor. Notes of iced-tea and straw in both. Light-bodied and watery with fizzy carbonation. Short, crisp, clean finish. Perfect with food, much like a Vienna... only better as it’s an ale. Thanks to springslicker for the bottle. DocLock (4085), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 5, 2005 Golden pour with a big, creamy, white head. Aroma of corn flakes, hops, florals. Tastes like liquid corn flakes with a hoppy, fruity finish. Smooth as silk, well balanced, and up there with FFF Pride and Joy as the best mild ales I’ve ever had. Just astounding. CapFlu (3273), Victoria, British Columbia, Canada Nov 29, 2003 Updated: Nov 30, 2003(Bottle) Pours a thin, white head and a deep amber body. Nose of malt and ever-so-slight sour milk. Mild malt flavour that has a twist of sourness to it. Average. Lubiere (3231), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Mar 25, 2004 Dull hazy golden beer with a slight malty nose. Nice cooky malt with a nice little hopyness with just a twinge of lemon. The malt is slightly caramelized,,,nice beer but everything is a bit too restrained...medium body
