POurs a redish deep brown. Nose is powdered nestle quick, but when you don;t stir it enough and it forms those weird balls of chocolate on top of the milk, booze, more cocoa, chocolate and rich strong espresso. Flavor is straight up candy, booze, milk chocolate, rich roast and mild fresh brewed coffee.

Draught at MacGregors in Henrietta. Pitch black with a fine, rocky head. Big chocolate and coffee aroma: not much else, but it’s nice. Again, huge chocolate/cocoa flavor, with coffee and roasted malts, a touch of sour. A bit too sweet, but with a nicely bitter finish. Big-time creaminess. Delicious, but where’s the beer? I’m caught--I love it, but it doesn’t taste at all like beer to me!

Deep brown in the glass with light brown edges. Small head which quickly diminishes. Chocolate aromas, and loads of chocolate flavors. If there wasn’t a bialetti on the label, I wouldn’t know to look for the coffee in this beer at all. Still, the palate is medium instead of heavy and overbearing. But this beer is mostly about chocolate, and for a blend it gets good marks in my book. Right up there with Brooklyn Chocolate Stout.

Bottle. Midnight black pour with a short tan head. Nose is huge chocolate and sweetened coffee notes. Very much a chocolate affair in the aroma. Roasted malt and light alcohol notes make their way through as well. Taste is just as chocolaty but brings forth more of the coffee and the hop bitterness. Strong roasted malts, bitter coffee, and milk chocolate make up the flavor of this beer. Body is thick and creamy with soft carbonation and a pleasant warmth from the alcohol. Ends with more chocolate, roasted malts, alcohol, light vanilla, coffee and bitter hops. Very tasty but this is one I really couldn’t drink more than one of in a sitting.

2.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bomber. Perfectly black body with a light brown sugar colored head. The nose is dominated by the rich, deep dark chocolate. This means plums, and molasses are up front with only light coffee hints behind the sweetness. The taste is fairly rich with coffee at first but then finishes really sweet. There is only a little roast left at the end. The main body is sweet like plums with milk chocolate. There is also a weird French bread character that persists and is strange, it’s like French bread was dipped in melted cheap milk chocolate. I liked the two base beers, but this combo just doesn’t quite come together for my taste. Too sweet and malty with little roast to balance that character. Even more cloying as I worked my way through the bottle.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a dark brown colour with a medium sized, quickly disappearing brown head. Aroma of rich dark chocolate, cocoa powder, and coffee. Tastes like Swiss miss cocoa powder mixed with coffee instead of water, caramel, malts and hops. Flavour improves as it warms if served cold. A pleasant sweet treat.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours dark brown with a light brown head. Smels of intense coffee, roasted malt, chocolate, peppery. Tastes of bitter coffee, chocolate, some velvety hints. Some roasted malt. Not enough of a malt backbone to balance out the coffee.

2009-08-27. Black body with a modest brown head that fades. ( 3+) Aroma of sweet cocoa and malt at first, coffee is mild and joins in just a bit later. Undertones reminiscent of Choklat and Creme Brulee ( not surprising). ( 7+) Sweet base flavour has some odd overtones, dry mocha finish. Alcohol is nearly invisible for 11%, notes of Ovaltine and hot chocolate. There is not a lot of coffee in the flavour but it comes out more in the dry finish, with some roasty bitterness. ( 7+) Smooth medium bodied palate. Decent, quite sweet overall. Enjoyable in moderation. Bottle shared by HogTownHarry

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Beautiful black pour, with the nicest mahogany hues to the fringes. Non-retentive thin tan ring follows the pour down the glass. The nose is of deep chocolate liqueur, some roasts, a touch of vanilla and cinnamon bread. Malty sweetness, roasts, maple syrup, complex chocolates, vanilla and freshly-ground coffee on the palate. The finish serves up more dark esters and bitters. The mouthfeel is syrupy, with a creamy texture and full body. Nice aftereffects of coffee accompanied by light alcohol notes. All-in-all, a wonderful impy stout... rich and complex.
