When empirical and creative impulses collide, the result is often timeless. The classic utility-art aesthetic of the coffee maker is an example of design and engineering working in concert. It is through similar cooperation that the simple bitter cocoa bean is transformed into a sweet treat. As scientists, our brewers utilize their materials to exacting standards. As artists, they couldn’t resist the temptation to combine the best flavors of two of our highly acclaimed Blackwater Series Imperial Stouts, Jahva and Choklat. Alone each is perfect, but together as Mokah, they are an inimitable expression of two of the world’s most sought after flavors. Enjoy Mokah stout with - or as - your favorite dessert! Cheers!

Bottled. Pitch black coloured. Dense light brown head. Sweetness, chocolate, light liqourice, spiced and with a light coffee touch in the aroma. Flavour of alcohol, liqourice, chocolate, icecoffee, vanilla and roast. Medium to full bodied. Dry. Ends on a roasty bitterness with a huge alcohol attack on lips and palate. Apart from the alcoholbite it reminds me alot of a frappe. Quite nice, but had the alcohol been more tamed, this would have been a top notch impy stout. Now its just nice.

Dan’s Bachelor Party Extended Weekend Rating #10 of 90. Bottle. Pours dark black with minimal head. Nose has loads of sweet dark malt. Tastes like chocolate chip cookies with minimal coffee. Taste is very sweet and delicious, I just with there was a tad more coffee. Glad I picked up a few of these.

Bottle, thanks to tpd975 for sharing. Poured dark brown with a thin tan head. Aroma is roasted with milk chocolate and coffee notes, comes thru as artificial to me. Medium bodied and very creamy. The beer tastes good enough the mocha qualities are certailnly there, but to me, the extracts are a bit too strong and too artificial tasting. Overall still a good brew.

The pour yields a dark, mahogany colored body that shows surprisingly translucent. A small layer of dark khaki colored froth forms the head. Some dense sheeting shows on the glass, though the lacing is minimal and spotty. The aroma is sweet and chocolaty, vanilla coming through along with a decent amount of coffee roast. Flavors continue that theme, big on rich, sweet dark chocolate and cafe mocha. I got a decent amount of dark fruit as well, though it serves as mainly an afterthought. Medium-heavy on the palate, the body sports a slick feel and low carbonation. It’s a straightforward, rich, tasty brew that I can only do small quantities of, but as a dessert it’s pretty darn solid.

Pours a dark brown, clear where thin. Scanty beige head, spotty lace. Complex aroma, alcohol, plums, chocolate and coffee. The chocolate has a distinct tootsie-roll nature that becomes more pronounced in the flavor. Good iced-coffee earthiness to the flavor, but it doesn’t harmonize terribly well with the almost artificial chocolate or the alcohol heat. Underlying malt backbone is toasty, a bit of burnt meat and vanilla to it. Linger brings out the coffee with a bit of bitter melon stoutiness. Medium body, nice chalkiness to the palate from the coffee.

Courtesy of tpd975. Pours deep dark with brown edges and tan head. The aroma is easily noticed feet away carrying up notes of mild chocolate, caramel, syrupy extract sweetness, a thin layer of coffee and lots of sweet nuttiness. The taste has the rich assortment of a box of chocolate candy and then moving toward mild notes of coffee and caramel. Very rich brew.

POurs a redish deep brown. Nose is powdered nestle quick, but when you don;t stir it enough and it forms those weird balls of chocolate on top of the milk, booze, more cocoa, chocolate and rich strong espresso. Flavor is straight up candy, booze, milk chocolate, rich roast and mild fresh brewed coffee.

Draught at MacGregors in Henrietta. Pitch black with a fine, rocky head. Big chocolate and coffee aroma: not much else, but it’s nice. Again, huge chocolate/cocoa flavor, with coffee and roasted malts, a touch of sour. A bit too sweet, but with a nicely bitter finish. Big-time creaminess. Delicious, but where’s the beer? I’m caught--I love it, but it doesn’t taste at all like beer to me!

Deep brown in the glass with light brown edges. Small head which quickly diminishes. Chocolate aromas, and loads of chocolate flavors. If there wasn’t a bialetti on the label, I wouldn’t know to look for the coffee in this beer at all. Still, the palate is medium instead of heavy and overbearing. But this beer is mostly about chocolate, and for a blend it gets good marks in my book. Right up there with Brooklyn Chocolate Stout.

Bottle. Midnight black pour with a short tan head. Nose is huge chocolate and sweetened coffee notes. Very much a chocolate affair in the aroma. Roasted malt and light alcohol notes make their way through as well. Taste is just as chocolaty but brings forth more of the coffee and the hop bitterness. Strong roasted malts, bitter coffee, and milk chocolate make up the flavor of this beer. Body is thick and creamy with soft carbonation and a pleasant warmth from the alcohol. Ends with more chocolate, roasted malts, alcohol, light vanilla, coffee and bitter hops. Very tasty but this is one I really couldn’t drink more than one of in a sitting.
