COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
When empirical and creative impulses collide, the result is often timeless. The classic utility-art aesthetic of the coffee maker is an example of design and engineering working in concert. It is through similar cooperation that the simple bitter cocoa bean is transformed into a sweet treat. As scientists, our brewers utilize their materials to exacting standards. As artists, they couldn’t resist the temptation to combine the best flavors of two of our highly acclaimed Blackwater Series Imperial Stouts, Jahva and Choklat. Alone each is perfect, but together as Mokah, they are an inimitable expression of two of the world’s most sought after flavors. Enjoy Mokah stout with - or as - your favorite dessert! Cheers!

MullMan (1099) - New York, USA - AUG 7, 2009
blackish body with a tall and bubbly dark tan creamy head. aroma is chocolate malt, chocolate milkshake, tootsie rolls, and a little vanilla too. Flavor is very similar, starts with chocolate/rummy caramel malt, then more toostie roll, cocoa sifted with confectionate sugar, madagascar bourbon vanilla, and just a little bourbon-like heat to make it nippy and warm. the alcohol is hidden a bit but present to make it work well with the profile. glad the weather is cool tonight for a heavy beer like this. I have a bias towards this sort of style.

keanex (1578) - Atco, New Jersey, USA - MAR 29, 2015
Bottled March 12, 2015.
Glass: Duvel tulip.
Appearance: Black body with a short tan head, a bit thin and doesn’t seem to have great retention. A bit foamy.
Aroma: A blend of cocoa powder, chocolate truffles and dark chocolate, a tad astringent, with coffee hidden. Aroma smells sweet and enjoyable.
Taste: Coffee and chocolate merge together with the chocolate taking hold. Chocolate is sort of like the chocolate cream in a truffle, cocoa powder, Yoo-Hoo and bitter cacao throughout, morphing. The coffee is light in comparison, but noticed. The chocolate is the standout flavor though, a tad artificial.
Palate: Full-bodied, moderately carbonated.
Overall: This is a decent beer, but I feel that the chocolate comes off too prominent with an artificial presence while the coffee is hidden, mostly, and somewhat astringent.

Foffern (1362) - Bodø, NORWAY - MAR 9, 2015
Bottle at home. 3 years old. Has a dark to black colour with a small beige head. The aroma is dominated by chocolate truffles, dark chocolate, candy, roasted malt and some coffee and alcohol. The flavour has more coffee, dark chocolate and is quite rich. Has a slick and silky mouth feel, and a solid bitterness. Both heavy aroma and taste. The aroma is sweet and the flavour is pretty bitter.

TATE (322) - Lubec, Maine, USA - FEB 7, 2015
Bottle. Poured black with no head. I fear this one may be old. Big raisin and boozy flavor finishing bitter like coffee. Was hoping for more coffee up front but it starts like a wine.

06.22.14 store label. Poured from a bomber into a goblet on 09.17.14. A: Hostess chocolate pie and a tiny bit of dark coffee. A: Midnight black body with a bit of red in the glass. It has a ring of bubbles that recedes quickly. T: Chocolate pie and dark coffee dominate. Dark fruit, woodiness, and vanilla are subtle. P: Creamy smooth. O: The coffee is mild and complements the overall flavor without overwhelming it. It is a complex and enjoyable stout.

hangunder (294) - Ontario, CANADA - JAN 4, 2015
Aged two years. Smells great, tons of milk chocolate with a hint of coffee and some roasted malts. Completely black, thick brown head. Tastes delicious. Coffee-candy like flavors in this one. Upfront some umami/soy, chocolate, finishes with more soy characteristics, coffee on the exhale and a sticky sweetness. Extreme flavors but well balanced. Alcohol very well hidden. This one is great, hadn’t tried it fresh but aged two years it’s quite nice. Thick bodied and average carbonation.

Starker schokoladig herber Antrunk. Vollmundig, wenig Vanille, wenig alkoholisch. Hintergründig Kaffee, angenehme Süße. Zum Ende vor allem Kaffee. Harmonisch, vollmundig, gut. 11/12/12/12/9/12

Bondiranrs, NYC tap: pours black with a beige head. Aroma is chocolate and coffee, but really it is mostly chocolate. Taste is like eating a chocolate bar. It most good. Fo real. I do not have much more to say.
