COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
When empirical and creative impulses collide, the result is often timeless. The classic utility-art aesthetic of the coffee maker is an example of design and engineering working in concert. It is through similar cooperation that the simple bitter cocoa bean is transformed into a sweet treat. As scientists, our brewers utilize their materials to exacting standards. As artists, they couldn’t resist the temptation to combine the best flavors of two of our highly acclaimed Blackwater Series Imperial Stouts, Jahva and Choklat. Alone each is perfect, but together as Mokah, they are an inimitable expression of two of the world’s most sought after flavors. Enjoy Mokah stout with - or as - your favorite dessert! Cheers!

Smells instantly of coffee with some dark chocolate. Tastes like coffee, chocolate, malt, some hops, hazelnut, and hints of other flavors. It has a pitch black appearance with brownish head and lacing. After trying this beer I always keep a lookout for this at the store because it was a great Imperial Stout.

Transfer from BA review on 7-28-12 - Poured from bottle into a snifter glass Appearance – The beer pours a very deep black color with small tan head. The head faded relatively fast to leave a medium level of lacing. Smell – The smell is big and bold of chocolate and malt. Heaviest is the aroma of a milk chocolate nature; a sweet and very soothing smell. The malt is of a bitter dark roast, balancing out the milk chocolate sweet. Along with the coffee and chocolate are notes of vanilla, caramel, coffee, and cream. Overall it creates an aroma with tons of roasty and cocoa aromas. It smells delicious. Taste – A heavy roasted malt body with a strong semi-sweet chocolate flavor are the first to meet the tongue. These flavors are big and bold and are soon meet with a lighter coffee flavor as well as flavors of lactose and some burnt caramel. While initially the chocolate was more sweet in nature, it bitters as time goes on, taking on a more bitter dark chocolate taste. As the chocolate transitions the dark roast coffee flavor also intensifies. In the end these favors mix with a very light alcohol flavor, leaving a pleasant sweet yet somewhat roasty taste on the tongue. Mouthfeel- The body of the beer was on the creamier side with the carbonation level being on the very average side. The body coasted the tongue in all the delicious roast and malt flavors and once the carbonation bubbles are done popping on your tongue it makes for one smooth and silky tasting beer. Overall – This is a strong and delicious beer. Huge sweet and darker chocolate flavors mixed with a wonderful body and aroma. Fantastic!!

From 22oz bottle to snifter. Pour is a nice black with a khaki head. Nose is big coffee, chocolate, caramel, mocha, cream. Taste is medium-heavy body, sweet. Finishes so smooth and soft. What an amazing beer ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

It pours a dark black with a light cream colored head. Smells exactly like chocolate syrup chocolate milk when going heavy on the syrup. Really good aroma. The taste somewhat matches the aroma. You still get the syrup flavors. Not much coffee. The alcohol definitely shows in the back taste. Not too much. But definitely there. Chocolate milk is the basis here. All the way. Not bad.

22 oz. bottle purchased at cigarette City, Seabrook, NH. Dark black color, thin white head. Aroma is off the chain chocolate and coffee grounds. Hints of cocoa powder.

Th flavor is rich and deep with chocolate, espresso, sugar and hints of vanilla. This is a sweet stout, no doubt about it but it does have a bitter element that helps cut some of the sweetness. It also has a light warming heat after the sip without the alcohol flavor. Creamy texture with a fuller body. This really is a awesome Impy stout for the price, $8.99. Highly drinkable dessert, imperial stout.

Coffer black pour with a tan head. Good amount of coffee ground in the nose and some cocoa underlying. The flavor has a ton of coffee notes in it and it gives it a nice bitterness to take away the chocolate sweetness. The alcohol is definitely covered in this on as well, but the warmth I feel on my face is and indication the 10% abv is correct. One of the better offerings from Southern Tier.

Pours dark black with thin tan lacing on tap. Rich aroma of chocolate, vanilla, and cocoa. Awesome flavor of rich dark chocolate mixed with vanilla and I may taste a hint of raspberry. Amazing beer!!! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at Carpool in Herndon, VA. Opaque, black-brown with a tan head and very good lacing. Aroma of intense rich chocolate, rich roasted coffee, slightly tart dark cherries and roasted malt. Taste of intense sweet mocha, Hersey's chocolate syrup, slightly bitter coffee, dark fruit and roasted malt. Full/medium body and medium/high carbonation. The chocolate and coffee dominate this beer, but is enough bitterness and dark fruit to make it a very interesting brew. A perfect dessert beer. To bad I ordered it as ten appetizer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Expectation: well, this has 100 points on Ratebeer, so the expectations are kind of high
Motivation: on a beer search to find another twelve pack of the SN Beer Camp and I found it at Kroger - had to try it!
Hardware: Bomber (10.0% ABV per bottle which was bottled on 4/4/14) into Le Duvel
Nose: obviously chocolate and coffee
sip: roasted to burnt coffee with sweet/bitter chocolate
Taste: incredibly balanced with complex bitter flavors
Misc: probably the smoothest imperial anything I’ve ever had
Conclusion: very rich and well rounded. Glad I tried it but won’t be drinking this on a regular basis.

Smells like chocolate syrup. No joke. Not much coffee on the nose, which is a bit disappointing. Pours pitch black with a light khaki head. Dissipates quickly. No lacing. Taste is lots of chocolate, some coffee, and woodiness and smokiness. Overall good, just expected more coffee.

Black. Tan head. Aroma of evaporated milk and cocoa. Lots of lactose flavor. Forward acidity on the palate. Some grease. Some hot pepper. Complex liveliness in this one. Neighbors smoking cigarettes obscure any further meaningful feedback from the senses.
