COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
When empirical and creative impulses collide, the result is often timeless. The classic utility-art aesthetic of the coffee maker is an example of design and engineering working in concert. It is through similar cooperation that the simple bitter cocoa bean is transformed into a sweet treat. As scientists, our brewers utilize their materials to exacting standards. As artists, they couldn’t resist the temptation to combine the best flavors of two of our highly acclaimed Blackwater Series Imperial Stouts, Jahva and Choklat. Alone each is perfect, but together as Mokah, they are an inimitable expression of two of the world’s most sought after flavors. Enjoy Mokah stout with - or as - your favorite dessert! Cheers!

Draft courtesy of Underground Bluz. Aroma was primarily of light coffee but also with dark fruits, some chocolate and alcohol. Pours black with mahogany highlights. A 2-finger creamy tan head coats the top. Lacing is thin and gets thinner as the beer sits. The taste is rich and dark-chocolate sweet. The sweetness is not that cloying kind of sweetness like sugar or honey. Bitterness is of the coffee variety and stays toward the front of the mouth rather than digging into the back. It’s not a hoppy kind of bitterness. Medium creamy mouthfeel. The beer stays consistent as it warms. The alcohol is more noticeable in the nose than on the palate. I am normally quite attuned to too much alcohol burn in the beer. Primarily this is why I don’t enjoy some imperial styles. But I did not find the same kind of burn in this beer. Very good.

Has to be in my top lists. Sweet but not sickening. Rich combo of chocolate and coffee but not the same old- same old.

Bottle from the LCBO. Pours almost black with a small dark khaki head that is soon gone leaving a ring. Nose is dominated by chocolate with coffee a close second; lesser notes of vanilla, caramel, orange rind and a definite alcohol background. Taste is only lightly sweet at the start with the coffee and cocoa bitterness quickly becoming the focus before some more light sweetness appears in the finish. Mouth is full and creamy with soft carbonation and a lasting warming finish.

Bottle to glass. Pours black, light khaki head. Typical imperial stout. Aroma is like a chocolate milkshake. Literally. Hints of coffee on the nose. Wow. Taste is a nice milk chocolate up front with coffee bitterness. Hints of vanilla. Palate is very smooth, velvety. Carbonation is light. Very good!

I love this chocolate treat. Liquid special dark velvety sweet dark as midnight winter Dracula would sink his teeth into this blood-substitute. I don't taste coffee...but I don't mind. This is what would be poured into a chalice in Transylvania for draculas guests. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Poured from bottle to glass. Opaque hue with creamy tan head that quickly dissipated to a thin ring. Aroma is Cocoa, vanilla, coffee, roast, brown sugar, honey, cream. Mouthfeel is nice with a full body and soft carbonation. Taste is sweet throughout with an astringent bitterness in the following and an ethanol finish. Overall this is a very well done dessert beer. It’s not overly sweet like Creme Brûlée is but is definitely a dessert brew!

Pours a very dark brown almost black with a khaki head leaving moderate lacing. Strong chocolate nose. Overwhelming chocolate flavor with a slight coffee aftertaste, very sweet, but very good.
