Draft at Rattle ’n Hum. Poured a clear light orange color with a white head. Big citrus aroma accompanied by less caramel, and some alcohol. Nice balance of caramel malt and citrusy hops in the flavor with plenty of alcohol warmth and flavor. Didn’t get much in the way of oak, but with the other assertive flavors in this beer, it’s no wonder.

22 oz. bottle. Pours a slightly hazed amber with a moderate yellow-white head that lasted through three-quarters of the glass and left partial lace. Very pleasant aroma of caramel, pine, orange and vanilla. The flavor is equally enjoyable with caramel, pine, orange, vanilla, oak and honey. A trace of alcohol in the aftertaste. Moderate bitterness at the finish. The dichotemy at Southern Tier is truly amazing. There are beers like this one that they do so well, and yet others like Cuvee #1 are just horrid.

Barrel aged oaken aromas and flavors on top of a Double IPA. Overall it works. Rich and spicy with some honey and pine. Sweet caramel, some pickle juice and dill notes. Rich palate. Quite good.

Pale orange, slight but lasting head. Aroma of citric hops and some oak. Flavor matches - oak, grapefruit, a bit of pine, caramel accented hops. This wasn’t bad, but in my opinion the oak gets in the way a bit of the pure expression of hops that was found in the original Un*Earthly. Nice though.

bottle from joekinty: pours a clear .copper couler with a nice soapy white head, very nice colour. aroma is awesome full of orangy citrus hops and great malt backbone to balance very nicely a littel of the oak comes through very well not over powering but blends in well. a littel breadiness and a slight cotton candy sweetness. very good. flavour is interesting at frist but then tuns into something very nice. good oak that seems to be sweetened with the malt and a good balance of caramelly malts. wow i really olike this much better than i thought. great job ST

Bottle, has a very clear orange-copper pour and produced a creamy white and off-white head with mild effervescence that is persistent in the glass, aromas of piney citrus hops, orange fruit, toasted malt and caramel, malt sweetness, also, there are aromas of bourbon alcohol and wood, flavors of malt sweetness, faint toasted malt and caramel with the oak flavor, mouth feel is a little more than medium, this ale left fine bubbled lacing on the glass. I easily tasted the difference between this and the regular Un-Earthly because of the oak flavoring, it seems that there was an alcohol prickling on the tongue from the oak, I think the oak aging is sort of a small nuisance, the oak prickling and 11% alc. are a bit much in alcohol flavor in this ale, I prefer the regular Un-Earthly.

Bottle. Pours deep gold with 1-finger off-white clingy head. Nose is oaky, with big resiny hops, perfumy florals, and big tropical fruit. Tastes hoppy, with a solid caramel malt base, oaky, floral, and perfumy to an extent, with tangeriney and mangoey fruit throughout. Complex, with very well hidden alcohol, this one is great.
