Bottle. Appearance: Pours a golden copper with a thing head and moderate lacing. Aroma: Caramel, citrus, and floral hops. Flavor: Sweet and bitter citrus with a hint of wood and alcohol. Palate: Medium body. Smooth and well balanced. The oak aging rounds this beer out perfectly.

This is a really good IPA. I got a lot of citrus, grapefruit, pine, earthy, oak, and hints of vanilla. Very, very nice.

Poured into a glass from a bottle. It might just be my personal taste, but the oak aging does not work well with this beer. This one was a little too sticky/sweet as compared to how I normally like my IPAs

Pours a deep amber hue with a beige head, leaving quite a bit of lacing along the sides of the glass. S: Strong hints of floral hops followed by vanilla. T: A bit of citrus at the beginning, with ensuing heavy oak and vanilla flavors with a bit of alcohol on the aftertaste. P: Light enough for an imperial IPA with good carbonation. Excellent with the added complexity of the oak aging

I think this is my first oak-aged IPA and it didn’t really work for me. The oak seemed to really overpower the delicate nature of the hops and resulted in lots of oak flavor but most of the hop goodness was muted to the point of just bitterness. I did get some pine and resin in the nose, but there’s also tons of vanilla and oak in there. None of the more delicate hop smells, like citrus or flowers or perfume. And the taste is almost all oak and vanilla, very sweet up front with a strong bitter bite in the end. An interesting beer and I’m glad I tried it, but I wouldn’t do it again.

Dark golden color with awesome lacing from a small white head. Oak on the nose with a tad of hops. Liked the sweetness and oakiness. The taste lingered a bit.good brew with some body.

Very nice ... oak aging strips the aggressiveness of the IIPA but leaves all of the citrusy goodness with a caramel malt booziness.

On tap. Amber pour, off white head. Super hoppy earthy aroma. Awesome palate, lot’s of complexity. Citrus and juniper abound. Nice drink!

Thanks Josh. Pours a rustic orange with near zero head. Aroma is very sweet. Carmel, alcohol, a light pepper and a bit of fruityness. It’s all over the place. The taste is like the aroma, all over the place. First and foremost, huge sweetness with an alcohol flavor and burn on the back end. There is a bit of fruityness, but not much. It’s not great or even that good. It just needs more balance and more smoothness. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
