dogfish120love (250), west hartford, Connecticut, USA Sep 28, 2008 pours pitch black with a light brown tannish brown head, sightly rocky. Smels of chocolate, oat, and rich malt. Tates of sweet oats, chocolate, sugar, slighty chewy the sugar is almost gritty in the beer. Definitely a decnet alcohol kick on the finish. Absolutely delicious. lemasney (398), Trenton, New Jersey, USA Sep 27, 2008 Style and Glass: Imperial Stout, Snifter

An absolute repeat, and a favorite, real value, high craft. 20 out of 20. trevor211 (500), Seattle, Washington, USA Sep 26, 2008 Pours deep, dark brown, though with a bit of transprency that some imperial stouts don’t have. Strong notes of mild coffee and milk chocolate on the nose, with earthy brown sugar as well. Flavor is right on the nose (so to speak), with perhaps a bit more bitter coffee than the aroma. Incredibly smooth and drinkable. Not quite as motor-oily as some of the more extreme stouts, but still with a powerful flavor. Great stuff - I could drink this often. luttonm (275), Belgrade, Serbia Sep 26, 2008 22oz from Bottleworks in Seattle. Deep black pour with an off-white head, but still lets some light through. Nice foil to the uber dark stouts, more balanced. Carbonation is a touch more than I would expect, which is a nice surprise. Think, syrupy mouthfeel that is all coffee bean and bitter chocolate. Slightly chalky finish with wonderful lingering, strong taste. Well done, great intro to this brewery. ILoveNewBeer (113), Iowa City, Iowa, USA Sep 25, 2008 Pours dark, very dark. It has a coffee and chocolate.
Joe at John’s Grocery asked if I had had it yet and I responded "no". He said it is one of his favorite imperial stouts. I am not disappointed. It is one of my favorites as well. Cletus (5002), Connecticut, USA Sep 23, 2008 Pouts dark brown with a trace of tan bubbles. Smells of oatmeal, earthy, sweet malt, some spice. Tastes sweet and chocolatey with some bitterness and a hint of brown sugar on the finish. Decent. dkachur (2318), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA Sep 22, 2008 22 oz. bottle from Beer Run in Charlottesville. Viscous chestnut brown pour with a thin tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, caramel, smoke, coffee, chocolate. Taste is roasted malts, oats, nuts, bitter coffee and caramel. Smooth, silky texture and full bodied. Alcohol is imperceptible. Everything an oatmeal stout should be. sonicstylee (13), cayuga, New York, USA Sep 22, 2008 thick and dark brown. nice tan head with lots of lacing. big notes of oat and bitter chocolate with subtle coffee hints. goes down quite smooth and will warm you up with that 11% ABV. a nice sipper
