durhambeer (1186), Durham, USA Aug 12, 2009 Bottle thanks to ... Tweety? Cletus? Damn, I forgot. About a year old. Pours nice and black with a one-finger tan head. Some slight oxidation on the nose; a bit of metal; some chocolately sweetness. Some oatmeal. Very sweet on the palate (from Southern Tier.... no!?!?!?) but quite good. I haven’t been impressed with other ST stouts I’ve had, but this is tasty. shp555 (1677), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Aug 8, 2009 Pours an opaque black color with a dark brown head. Aroma is caramel, oat, chocolate, roast, toffee, some coffee notes, and some spicy hops. Flavor is caramel, oat, roast, toffee, chocolate, some fruity notes, and a slightly spicy bitter finish.
