COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
“brewed for the harvest” This beer begins in spring when oat seeds are sown as soon as the soil can be worked. Meanwhile, select types of barley are planted with hopes that Mother Nature will be kind. Our brewers wait patiently until the legumes are mature and ready for the scythe. Upon delivery to the brewery, these ingredients are mixed together in the mash tun where they steep, creating a rich molasses-like liquid. Spicy hops are boiled with the thick brew, giving balance and complexity. Brewers yeast feasts upon the rich sugars, concluding its transformation into oatmeal stout. Pour Oat into a snifter, allow its thick tan head to slowly rise, releasing unbridled aromas. The color of Oat is as dark as a moonless night. The first sip reveals Oat’s thick and nourishing taste. Like a haversack to a horse, a bottle of this stout is a meal in itself. Enjoy responsibly. 11.0% abv • 238º L

650 ml bottle. Pours a pure jet black color with a medium beige head that goes down quickly. A sweet cocoa, coffee and earthy grain nose. The flavor is quite nice; molasses, brown sugar, roast but not a huge roast, vanilla, chocolate coffee, earthy and grainy. A metallic and fruity finish. Quite nice. Smooth for 11% for sure. A slick viscous palate. Dusty cocoa in the tail as well.

Bottle from Vinmonopolet, Vika. Pours black with a small, light brown head. Chocolate aroma with caramel, toffee and some fruits too. Detectable alcohol, but not annoying. Pretty sweet, not so much bitterness.

This beer is quite good, but it does have that southern tier flavor that these guys are known for. Taste is oats, light coffee, and a nutty malty flavor. Overall its pretty good stuff and not as over the top as their flavored variants.

alright, so a southern tier beer that was actually a beer. Congradu-fucking-lations. No fack chocolate or coffee tastes. No terrible hopless over oaked ipas. It was actually enjoyable. I happy for you, just like a friends that finally bangs a fat chick. You say you’re happy for him, but are you really? Nah............

Small brown head. Opaque black body. Roasty chocolatey oats aroma with licorice, syrup, caramel pudding, and soy sauce notes. Sweet-dryish spicy honey and cinnamon taste with roasty chocolatey notes. Full-bodied. Mild, soft mouthfeel with some latent heat that comes out later. Dryish licorice and toffee aftertaste with fruity, spicy, honey, and soy sauce notes. Lovely! Incredibly subtle and delicate for the amount of alcohol. Dangerously drinkable, too. (0.65l bottle, wine monopoly, Vika, Oslo.)

22oz bottle, shared with Taylor. Very dark black color, minimal light brown head, with a filmy layer on the surface. Nice spots of lace. Nice, light carbonation, great creamy thick texture. Really nice, hearty light bitter sweet taste. Huge body. Very complex malty chocolatey aroma, great creaminess. Another great Southern Tier imperial stout, this one being on the enormously hearty side.

Subtle aroma. Nice full body. Finishes very bitter. Good initial flavor that then deteriorates.
