tarjei (1741), Bryne, Norway Jul 18, 2009 65 cl bottle, shared with Roger and Atle. Black color, moderate brown head. Aroma is roasted malt, with the usual hints of coffee and chocolate. Flavor is coffee, chocolate, oily, fine bitterness. Like cream in your mouth. Very nice. DerWeg (748), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jul 14, 2009 ST hops are tannic and upfront on the silky-rich deep grainy sweetness. Aroma is roast and cereal sugars. Very dark brown with a trace of brown cap. Winey alcohol presence. This oat stout is rather sweet at cellar temperature. Oily sweet feel. A bit of rich coffee and syrupy chocolate candy, commercial licorice,. Interesting. andersand (271), Malmö, Sweden Jul 12, 2009 My favourite beer from this otherwise very unbalanced crazy brewery. Here the flavours are in balance, it’s smooth, rich and creamy with plenty of chocolate, caramell and fudge. It’s very chewy and fat yet still smooth and drinkable. decaturstevo (1971), decatur, Tennessee, USA Jul 10, 2009 Large dark brown pour with creamy tan head and lace. Aroma is chocolate with a very light hint of coffee. Flavor mirrors the aroma except for the nice smooth warmth that every beer should shoot for. Creamy body with soft carbonation. A very special beer. nearbeer (1833), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Jul 3, 2009 Bomber. Opaque with a small head that tries to last. Nose of coffee, chocolate and cookie dough. Flavors are the same. Medium-heavy body is a bit watery but smoothly carbonated. minch25 (346), Columbus, Ohio, USA Jun 23, 2009 Pours dark brown, not quite opaque, thin khaki head.
Aroma - chocolate, burnt fruitcake, oats, milk, well-integrated alcohol notes.
Flavor - oats, dark chocolate, alcohol. Medium/thick bodied; soft carbonation. This is rather different from other takes on the style. Combination of sweet from the chocolate and alcohol, and dry from the oats. Enjoyable, not outstanding; no problems with this one. craftbeerdesign (731), Alpharetta, Georgia, USA Jun 20, 2009 2008 bomber... poured into a snifter glass. pours a light black from the bottle and settles an average black with a decent size tan head. strong licorice and sweet sugar aromas. medium body which transforms the palate from ordinary to sublime. there is a burst of citrus hops and licorice up front, followed by a very smooth chocolate / coffee undertone on the base of the mouth. there is a true feeling of strength both in alcohol and flavor throughout... it really grabs hold of your tongue and doesn’t let go.... on the finish the stinging bitterness comes through with more sweetness and a burst of alcohol. it’s almost like a candi sugar coated stack of chocolate coffee cake with some hops loaded on top. yummy. travita (1851), Frisco, Texas, USA Jun 16, 2009 The color is black as midnight with a decent tan colored head. The smell is chocolate, malts, oats, roasty, alcohol, and coffee. The taste is roasty, alcohol, coffee, malts, and chocolate.
