3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12oz bottle from drake party store. Clear medium amber pour with half inch white head. Moderate lacing left on the glass as it went down. Sour, pale, grassy malt aroma with hints of caramel. Smooth full bodied taste of tart bitter pine hops. The bitterness of the taste lingers in the finish and leaves the tongue dry. Not the best from southern tier but a good beer nonetheless.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
BOD 9/24/14. Clear amber pour with a slight garnet cast. Outstanding massive head, lacing and retention. Very light nose of sweet malt (biscuit and caramel) with hints of tropical citrus and either plum or pear. Light medium body that has a nice oily texture. Normal carbonation with a bit of effervescence in the finish. The flavor profile is of normal intensity, fairly balanced and has a bit of complexity. It begins with hop flavor (pine and citrus rind) that flows into a medium bitterness. As the bitterness fades, mostly caramel sweetness is noted. This sweetness lingers through the finish and becomes totally caramel in nature. The finish leaves you with a nice alcohol burn at the back of the throat and a "peppery" note with a grain alcohol residual flavor.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a clear darker golden color with white head. Some hop aroma on the nose, a little grass and some floral notes; follows onto the palate. Finishes with a decent amount of malt. Not a bad winter ale.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle pour copper with fine white floaties. Minimal quickly disappearing head. Nose kind of generic caramel malt, minimal spice. Taste similar to nose, fairly under spiced for a winter. Mostly just the sweeter malt profile. Late mid palate faint bitterness. Some mineral and alcohol. Kind of boring flavors. Good mouth feel.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Very pedestrian. Ugly in the glass with almost no nose. Light head. In the mouth its dirty malt. Disappointing.

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle. Vaguely cloudy light to medium amber with a modest head. The aroma is odd. Yes, I pick up the malt characters and a clean hop bite but there is something that reminds me of peanut butter in it. They say it is complex and they don’t mention peanut butter but that is what I find. Medium body. Same with the taste - a halfway decent malt character but there is a peanut butter finish mixed in with those clean hops. Is it my imagination?

Transfer from BA review on 11-26-12-
Poured from bottle into pint glass
Appearance - Pours a mahogany color with a one finger off white head. The head has moderate retention eventually fading to give a decent level of lacing.
Smell – The aroma is heavy of spices. There are strong aromas of cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice. Mixed with these aromas are lighter notes of a bready and caramel nature, which when mixed with the spice give a spice bread aromas.
Taste – The taste starts out roasty and bready with a very light caramel sweetness and a pine hop taste. Upfront there is also some nutmeg spice with more spice flavors come to the tongue as the taste advances. After the initial taste a cinnamon and allspice flavor come to the tongue. In the end the roasted and nutmeg flavors of the brew grow stronger with the caramel fading. A clove, moe pine hop, and light alcohol flavor greet the other tastes in the end to leave a rather roasted bittered spice flavor on the tongue.
Mouthfeel –The body of the beer is on the average side in terms of creaminess with a carbonation level that is rather average as well. A thicker body and a slightly lower carbonation may have better accentuated the roasted, pine hop, and spice flavors, although even while said the feel was not too bad.
Overall – A pretty decent winter ale. It was a good blend of spice, roast and hop. Not bad and worth a try.
