Copper pour with a good sized tan head. Aroma is earthy, somewhat metallic with slight scotch notes. Flavor is rich and malty. Spicy flavor, almost too bitter. Strong aftertaste, light caramel and lingering bitterness. I found it one dimensional but it will definitely warm you up.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a clear reddish amber with a medium tan head...great lacing and retention. Aroma has earthy hops and light candied fruits...red twizzlers. Flavor has some sweet fruity malts...candied fruit and some caramel...saved from being too sweet by fresh earthy almost woody hop notes. Mouthfeel is medium and lively with a dry earthy/hoppy and slightly fruity finish. Nice fresh hoppiness creating a balance that doesnt hide the sweetness altogether.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz bottle poured into shaker. Pours clear caramel color with a thin fizzy beige head and a steady stream of light carbonation. Spicy grassy aroma. Well-balanced flavor with caramel malt up front and more hops than I was expecting on the back end. I didn’t find it particularly warming, but I did find it tasty.

Bottle. Dark amber to light brown in color with a foamy off-white head. Nice hopped aroma, light spice, cinnamon, bread, brown sugar. Taste is similar. Not as malty as expected, medium bodied, light for an old ale. Slightly bitter finish. To be drunk on a taboggin while zipping down a snowy mountain amidst a downfall wintery mix!

Pours dark amber with a small head. Quite hoppy, a little malty with bread and biscuit. I like the 2XMAS better (and find it more warming).
