UPDATED: OCT 18, 2011 slightly floral aroma, nice hazy to cloudy appearance, slight bitter, but more sour taste. Extremely foamy head that took very long to settle. Long finish. Better on a second try, but still not great finish.

batch 212. aroma is pleasant light caramel devoid of overpowering sweetness, quite subdued. some background hop lemon/grassy note as well. appearance is lightly hazy straw with film head and some lacing. flavor is light caramel from nose with moderate hopping producing pine notes and touch of lingering bitterness, just enough to be refreshing. well balanced from beginning to end

This Pale Ale is only available in Southern Tiers Pales variety pack. APPEARANCE: Pours a golden yellow color with a small amount of carbonation bubbles. The head is almost pure white and is light and fluffy like whipped eggwhites. Tight bubbles and huge amounts of lacing stick to the glass. SMELL: I get a touch of floral initially in the nose followed by a big Pineapple aroma. Some citrus also in the form of tangerine and a touch of lemon zest. Strong hoppiness borders on IPA. TASTE: Lot’s of fresh hops. This is one of the more hoppier APA’s i’ve had. Nice pineapple and mango flavors. Not much malt presence at all. This one is pretty much all hops and thats a good thing. MOUTHFEEL: Light and crisp. I’ve been drinking so many big beers lately that it’s good to take a step back once in a while. This is a smooth drinking APA. The abv. is not listed anywhere but i would place it at maybe 5%-5.4%. Very drinker friendly. DRINKABILITY: I would say drinkability is real good with this. It’s light and flavorful and very sessionable. I can see this being a nice stepping stone for someone who wants to get into IPA’s and hoppier beers. Too bad you can only get it in the Variety pack. Overall i like this beer and can recommend it.

I thought this was a pretty good pale ale...not overly strong like some IPAs and double IPAs, but had a nice mild nose and a good flavor. Thing I really like in a pale ale is it had a good clean refreshing finish!

Bottle. lighter golden, amber color. aroma of hops and strong citrus. the beer was a little too sweet for my taste, with a good amount of the floral hops coming through to add bitterness.

12 oz. bottle from a Southern Tier Pack of Pales 12 pack sampler. Pours very pale golden orange. Slightly hazy. Minimal head. Very noticeable citrus and floral notes with fairly balanced hoppy bitterness. Medium body. Appropriate carbonation. Respectable finish.

Bottle (355ml) shared with Radek Kliber, frylock, garthicus & rudolf -- c/o swoopjones. Bottle #716. Pours a hazy, bubbly orange-amber with an average size white head. Fresh aroma of citrus hops, caramel malt and fruit. Nice hoppy flavour backed by caramel malt along wih some citrus fruit and a long bitter finish. Medium bodied. A very good session Pale Ale, I’d love to buy 6-packs of this where I live.
