This Pale Ale poured a crystal clear golden yellow colour with a bright, white, smoothly textured head. Scents include floral hopps, grass and a sharp citrus scent. First taste was slightly watery but with decent hopp flavours. Tastes of grass and citrus. Finish is slightly bitter with hopps lingering on the palate...

THOUGHTS: I hated the label and thought it was way too hop heavy for an APA. Not enough malt to balance thing out. Nothing special and not something I’ll try again. I love their imperials, but haven’t found many of their regulars that I like. TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a clear, medium yellow with a rather small, off-white head that mostly diminished. The aroma was light biscuit, moderate to heavy piney, resinous and lemony hops. It was a little like lemon Pine Sol, but not in an entirely bad way. The initial flavor was lightly sweet, bitter and slightly acidic; while the finish was rather bitter with a long duration. There was bready, biscuity malt; and piney, citric and then grassy and metallic hops. The light to medium body was a little watery and then rather dry with tingly carbonation and a metallic finish.

Bottle shared with Radek, Frylock, Garthicus and Blankboy, thanks to Swoopjones! Nose is Amarillo, a little bit of caramel malts. Flavor is amarillo, a bit of plastic. Light caramel & astringency in the finish.

An outstanding pine oil and estery hop aroma. English barley malts. Hops are really tremendous. Perfect nose. Hint of sour wine grapes. The appearance is icy honey-gold. Head shrinks quickly. Uber-cloudy. The flavor is sweet rye malts, roasted and a little pungent. Almost sour. Grapes, ginger, leafy hops. Malt balance is dark and earthy. Beautifully balanced. The malts get more pale toward the end. The feel is creamy and chewy. Thick but not a choker. An outstanding beer, closer to an IPA than a pale.

Bottle. Aroma of citrus notes, toasted bread malt notes, something floral, sort of rose-like, both flowers and leaves. Flavor lets both the sweet malt and the hops shine through admirably for a beer this size, gentle and assertive at once with toast and nectar. A really nice drinker.
