matt7215 (499), Cambridge, Ontario, Canada Apr 29, 2008 12 oz bottle from a trade with Bungalo22. pours a honey hued hazy golden with a small white head. aromas are hoppy with pale malt also present. flavours are balanced between the hops and malts but are not big and showy. good without being great.
BückDich (4497), Boise, Idaho, USA Jul 22, 2008 Bottle: Pours a copper gold color with light head and lacing. The nose is toasty with a subtle spice and herbal hop note. The flavor is chewy with a full malty body, a smooth leafy floral hop lick on the palate and a balanced and refreshing crispy tail. Nice biscuit and dry malt dust note overall. Chewy and sweet. Nice! General_Gao (2368), Iowa City, Iowa, USA Jul 22, 2008 12oz bottle. Nice citrusy hop nose with hints of flower blossom and grape candy. Poured a clear light orange color. Head was rocky and white with decent retention and lacing. Light to medium bodied and delicately sweet. The flavor was similar to the Mikkeller All Others Pale as far as the hops went. Earthy, green vegetables, grassy, and sprucy. Not much malt backbone. There was a detracting metallic note. Decent, but nothing special. Drnk_McDermott (1519), Park Forest, Illinois, USA Jul 8, 2008 12 oz. bottle. Tried to guess the style before I saw the description here. Smell upon opening was a little tart, like a wheat, then sweetens up like a dubbel. Pours an amber beer with busy columns of bubbles rising from sides of glass, slightly puffy white head. So it does look more like an IPA. Smell now suggests some chewy malts and an APA load of hops. Taste may be a little thin on malt for what’s boasted. Nice spicy hop load with a bit of PNW to it. Good, yes. Extraordinary? Ennh. joshwilfong (486), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 4, 2008 dark brown with white head. flavor has some definite crystal malt with a nice hop aspect to it. a flavorful and drinkable beer, perfect for a social setting. a great drinking beer dmac (799), Toms River, New Jersey, USA Jul 1, 2008 12 oz bottle purchased at Oak Tree. This one poured with waaaay to much head. Virtually it was a glass of head so I thought it might have been infected but the aroma and flavor seemed to be okay. Aroma had a slight bit of mustiness, the malt profile seemed to be wheaty although I’m pretty sure this isn’t brewed with wheat. Flavor is dominated by lots of malts with some spicey pepper as well. For some reason I was expecting something smooth and easy drinking and this was much fuller and more complex then I was anticipating.
