FlssmrBrewAlum (1081), Lisle, Illinois, USA Nov 21, 2008 12 oz. bottle served with a glass at The Galway Tribes (Frankfort, IL). Poured a decent enough darler gold hue, lightly hazed, with a whitish head that is decent in size and sustainability. Aromas are subdued: Pale ale malts mixing with some light citrusy hops. Overall, average. Taste is similar, a tad lighter on the palate but very sessionable. Lighter bready malts mixing with lemony citrus balance well, but don’t push the envelope on flavor. Overall, average and sessionable. No harsh flavors, nothing bad, just no defining characteristics. Cheers. malrubius (969), Valley Stream, New York, USA Nov 21, 2008 12 ounce bottle in pint glass. Clear copper with barely any head. Overripe fruit aroma. Overripe peach honey sweetness with medium hop bitterness. Decent balance. Medium body and carbo. An average pale ale. I think you take extra responsibility when you name a beer "extraordinary". This one seems anything but. dai1005a (8), Havre de Grace, Maryland, USA does not count Nov 21, 2008 nothing extraordinary, but decent everyday mildly hoppy ale. pours golden with hoppy aroma, liitle malt, smooth throughout CaryTheDude (1113), Longmont, Colorado, USA Nov 19, 2008 Crushed with Jakebra. A small sip expands in the mouth to epic proportions. The carbonation is the most extraordinary part of this one. Some fruitiness and hoppiness in there, but nothing that holds up to the name. Still not impressed with Southern Tier. Peregrinari (53), Washington, Washington DC, USA Nov 2, 2008 Not anything special but a nice beer overall. Not sure that I would place it in APA category but whatever. Somewhat sticky on the finish but tolerable. Miamifan1354 (19), , Delaware, USA Oct 26, 2008 Bottle to Sniffer. Pours golden with a small white head. Smells of hops and malt. Tastes of light hops and citrus fruit. Kind of a weak bear, but extremely drinkable. cloudstrife (50), Rochester, New York, USA Oct 21, 2008 12 oz bottle poured into glass. Hazy gold color with a white head. Very faint pale ale hop aroma with a citrusy twist. Couldn’t pick up much malt in the aroma. Easier to pick up the aroma upon sipping from the glass than trying to smell it straight. Nice balanced flavor, I love the touch of hops. Very easy to drink. Nice carbonation which pulls together all the flavors. Overall a very enjoyable beer from Southern Tier. Don’t know if I would go so far as to call it extraordinary but I definitely thank Phin and Matt for this one. jimmack34 (560), Lancaster, Ohio, USA Oct 21, 2008 Very nice impression of an american pale. Pours a light amber gold with a light head. Smells like a light IPA, piney, slight citrusy and very light sweet malt. Tastes of crisp rich ale and hops more than malts.
