The carbonation is the most extraordinary part of this one. Some fruitiness and hoppiness in there, but nothing that holds up to the name. Still not impressed with Southern Tier. Tastes of light hops and citrus fruit. Kind of a weak bear, but extremely drinkable. cloudstrife (50), Rochester, New York, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 21, 2008 12 oz bottle poured into glass. Hazy gold color with a white head. Very faint pale ale hop aroma with a citrusy twist. Couldn’t pick up much malt in the aroma. Easier to pick up the aroma upon sipping from the glass than trying to smell it straight. Nice balanced flavor, I love the touch of hops. Very easy to drink. Nice carbonation which pulls together all the flavors. Overall a very enjoyable beer from Southern Tier. Don’t know if I would go so far as to call it extraordinary but I definitely thank Phin and Matt for this one. jimmack34 (560), Lancaster, Ohio, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 21, 2008 Very nice impression of an american pale. Pours a light amber gold with a light head. Smells like a light IPA, piney, slight citrusy and very light sweet malt. Tastes of crisp rich ale and hops more than malts. KAF (441), Coralville, Iowa, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 21, 2008 Clear light gold pour with a thin white head that dissipates quickly leaving a nice film. Stale hop aroma with a touch of dried malt. The flavor is much the same consisting of a very dry hoppiness but without any bite to it and the malt fades out. Not much in way of finish. mansquito (821), Boston/Philadelphia, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 17, 2008 Pours a white head that leaves some lacing. Pale golden/orange color. Aroma is light flowery hops, some bread, and citrus. The beer itself is also lightly hopped. And there are some crisp fruity flavors therein. Some malts. Feels kind of light for an APA, but that is not to say that it doesn’t have a good body. Nothing that it too incredible.
