Nice lacing. The aroma is juicy, fruity, bright and fresh. It’s all hops. Is this dry hopped? It’s pretty light bodied with a dry finish. It is quite bitter, but quenching with notes of citrus peel and pine. It’s very fresh tasting. Nice. Pwn3d (1054), Manhattan, New York, USA

Pours light golden. Taste is more spice and hopped than the nose would imply. Tastes delicious.. like grapefruit, sugar, spice, and florals. body is medium. Why is this rated so low? Underrated. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 20, 2008 Clear orange pour with a white head. Piny dry hope aroma with some roasted malt and hints of berries. Very nice flavor. Very similar to their hop sun (I got their sampler pack and drank that one right before this one!) but much hoppier. Very good. Southern Tier is quickly becoming one of my favorite breweries. SQNfan (591), Wheaton, Illinois, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 1/5 | 11/20 | Apr 16, 2008 Golden in color tending toward the orange side and poured a head of thick bubbles. Crisp and dry aromas of citrus fruits, grass and a touch of caramel and spice. The flavors from the nose continued into a medium-bodied beer that was also crisp and dry. The palate had very little carbonation and just came off as flat and rather dull. Brigadier (1230), Chagrin Falls, Ohio, USA

This was part of a six pack sampler along with the IPA and Raspberry Wheat beer. I’ve yet to try the other two though I do not have high hopes for the wheat beer if it is anything like the porter. On the other hand I could be wrong - I’ll just have to try it and see. This beer however was the primary reason for picking up the sixer. It’s a solid beer that strikes me a nice beer to drink while cooking on the grill in the evening or on the weekend. I’d recommend it as a safe alternative to big beer thats you can share with friends.
Aroma / Appearance - The translucent copper body was decorated with minimal carbonation and a bleach white head. From it sprang a fountain of sprice, freshly cut grass clippings and iced tea. The vegetal smell was a little offputting but fortunately not enough to totally ruin an otherwise good presence.
Flavor / Palate - The fluid mouthfeel immediately coats the tongue and mouth in bitter maple syrup. The hops and malts are nicely balanced with neither dominating for too long. Despite the presence of the alcohol in the finish this isn’t boozy at all. I look forward to finishing the last bottle in the next few weeks on the deck. Brewer101 (163), New Jersey, USA

Nice hoppy aroma. I would say a great session IPA beer at a halfway decent price. The balance is smooth but it doesn’t bowl you over with its completness. I put this one in the middle of the road.
