jake65 (1658), Williston, North Dakota, USA Sep 3, 2007 Bottle: Clear gold pour with a small white head and nice lacing. Nose is malty with citrus and light florals. Tastes sweet with malts, fruitiness of apple and citrus, and floral hops. Kind of lingering floral/grassey aftertaste. Stine (1380), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA Aug 28, 2007 Perfectly clear, golden color with immediately disappearing foam. Dill potato chips and vinegar on the nose, with seaweed and some olive skins. Very fishy before shifting momentarily toward brown sugar. There’s an underlying spicy bitterness with an apricot and beet hint. Tastes of more dill, cucumber, lutefisk and/or boiled sardines. A nearly unprecedented oddity. Red pepper and vinegar with a little floral normality in the finish. Smacks of celery stalks and a little green fruit. Palate is fairly clean with a crisp bitterness. It’s hard to even describe how utterly strange this is. Might be an old bottle, but this is undated. Surely unique, but in an unsettling way - it’s almost impossible to enjoy. EithCubes (2140), Indiana, USA Aug 28, 2007 Bottle. Sweet American hops nose - lychee and grapefruit and nice breadiness. Love my Cascades! Clear slightly golden body with a creeping-up white head. Bitter APA body; for a finish, very dry and bready. Nice floral touch, grapefruit and light grass with nice contributions from the perfume and citrus. Crisp biting mf on a medium body. I’ve had much worse; this stands up as a tasty, very drinkable session. polomagnifico (532), Saginaw, Michigan, USA Aug 26, 2007 12 oz bottle. Aroma is light malts and moderate hopps. Notes of hay, perfume, and citrus fruits. Average sized foamy white head that mostly diminished and left virtually no lace. Medium yellow/gold hue. Flavor is lightly sweet and finishes same with some bitterness. Short finish. Palate is medium bodied and watery soft but left a chalky feel. Very disappointed considering what I was told about this brew. Not the best beer in the universe, not even close. piscator34 (1121), Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada Aug 24, 2007 Bottled sample via gregclow. Dark gold in colour with medium carbonation. C-hop aromas of pink grapefruit and black pepper are the first to strike, before giving way to some slightly nutty malt notes. A similar course of events take place in the mouth, with the citric hops leading the way before the malt character takes hold. The moderately leafy bitterness is nice. Overall, it’s pretty much by the book, but it lacks a little punch. Cartoonkhaki (1150), Brantford, Ontario, Canada Aug 21, 2007 Golden colour with poor head retention, of it’s off white head. Slight apple juce aroma with a medium hoppy aroma. Medium body, so it is not too water. bu11zeye (5430), Frisco, Texas, USA Aug 20, 2007 (Bottle) Pours a lightly hazy yellow body with a moderate white head. Aroma of citrus, florals, caramel, and toasted cereal. Flavor of floral hops, herbs, and caramel malt.
