Commercial Description:
When Phin and Matt sat down to collaborate on their new beer, they knew it had to be different if they were to call it extraordinary. "Let sprinkle it with fairy dust and wave our magic wands," said Phin. "No way," said Matt, "We've got to do better than that. This beer has to be better than any other in the galaxy." "Let's do some market research." So the two strapped on their rocket pack packs and traveled to the intergalactic beer store. After sampling an array of beers from acrossed the galaxy, the duo hit on an idea. "I've got it" exclaimed Matt, "we'll use vast amounts of whole hops, the finest malt, and put a little more love in every batch." "Eureka!" shouted Phin. And thus became a beer so fresh and tasty the duo put their names on it. 37 IBU's, 5.6% ABV

Red-amber; small, frothy, white head; head becomes a small ring but can be brought back briefly with some moderate swirling. Grassy, earthy, piney hops in the nose; light caramel. Flavor is largely hoppy; some apple is hidden in there as well. Medium-thin body; medium carbonation. Overall, quite solid.

bought it for the packaging...cause sometimes i’m a sucker - found it to be a lot better than i expected...kind of like a sierra nevada pale ale without the bitterness in the finish

Clear amber/orange with a small head. Aroma of orange and pine. Taste is heavily orange-citrus. A little caramel. Nice. Light to medium body. Nicely bitter ending.

On tap @ Coles Buffalo, NY. Nice American pale. Easy drinking & enjoyable. Could use a better name though

Draft at KClinger’s. Textbook amber beer with a thin sticky top. Well hopped ... oily, resiny, piney. Vicscuous! Excellent hoppy little ale. (#2653, 1/14/07) <<Re-rate from bottle ... light golden amber, thin but resilient head. Nicely flavored beer, despite a lack of aroma. Very corn-flakey flavor, but nicely rounded, oily. Nice.

Bottle thanks to drewbeerme. Poured a clear, brighter golden with some rising carbonation and some tiny sediment suspended in there. The nose found fresh floral and citrus notes with unidentifiable sweet malts behind. Flavor was of floral, citrus, and pine hoppage backed by light fruity sweetness. Higher carbonation with a smooth middle and brighter bitterness around the edges. Decent, but certainly not extraordinary.

Bottle. This beers name is half right...its and ale, but there is nothing extraordinary about it. In fact, it is very...ordinary. Pours a muddy brownish with a thin head. A little aroma of citrus hops. Simple malt flavor, base malt and some crystal. Boring... If this was just Phin and Matt’s Ale, hey, this ain’t bad, but if your going to add a pretty big adjective, like "Extraordinary", it better be, and this baby ain’t!
