I’m an IPA fan, but I like this better than Southern Tier’s IPA. A nice surprise in a World Market variety pack. thornecb (1760), Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 3, 2006 Pours light amber into a shaker. Bright white conglomerate head leaves heavy lacing as it recedes. Sweet pine and resin aromas. Creamy but flat. Smarties with a slight bitter hop finish. barleyPops (1079), Quad-Cities, Illinois, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 24, 2006 whenever there is a commercial description avaialable, I usually read it. that said, when I got to the part on this beer about "sprinkle it with fairy dust and wave our magic wands" I knew it was time to move on! clear gold with a fast fading head. mild hop aroma with flavors of mild caramel malt and more mild hop profile. nothing offensive here other than the commercial description. decent session brew, thanks to styles for the bottle. shigadeyo (2263), Harrison, Ohio, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 19, 2006 Clear orangy gold color. Generous carbonation that produces a lasting off white crown. Sweet candi and hop aroma. Distinct tangerine hop flavor. Flavor also starts a little sweet and then finishes with a delicately balanced bitterness and even a hint of tartness. I think this is a great American Pale Ale and quite memorable because of the tangerine flavor. I could probably sit around and drink this stuff non-stop! This was my second Southern Tier beer and I have been quite impressed with both. I have two more of the "regular" ST beers in the fridge to try and then I will have to go get their "upper end" ones in the 22 oz bottles. So far, so good. I think Southern Tier is going to make it onto my favorites list pretty quickly...

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Sep 15, 2006 Looks perfect! Crystal clear amber with a huge white head. Smell floral and slightly hoppy. So far so good. Taste is bread and yeast, under-hopped, with a stinky skunky vegetable finish. Drain pour, not because it is so bad, but because I have better stuff, including better stuff from Phin and Matt. MartinT (5055), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 6, 2006 Any first impressions?
-A slim sheet of foam tops the bright peachy bronze.
-A resinous, wooden hop perfume promotes orangey fruitiness as well.
-Juicy, citrusy oranges and leafy rustling cooperate with the simple overall fruitiness.
-The sleepy carbonation helps drinkability, emulating cask service.
What if you dig deeper?
-The maltiness offers something to hang on to, but few flavors (frail biscuits?).
-Hop bitterness is minimal, which is surprising considering its importance in the rest of the beer.
-This is a decent APA with enough hops dancing to create interest, but not enough of the rest to be memorable or satisfy completely.

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Sep 6, 2006 Light amber body, small head. Aroma of floral hops. Flavor is a nice combination of sweet bready malts anf flowery hoppiness. It’s very ’bright’ and fresh tasting. Extremely enjoyable.
