COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Plums are a diverse group of species, with somewhere between 19 & 40 varieties depending upon whom you ask. We’re using what we consider to be the best to brew with. the Italian plum has beautiful dark skin & the flesh is perfect for fermentation. Plum Noir’s mild sweetness is derived no necessarily from the many malts we use. A bit of plum flavor is present as well as earthy, toasted grains, & hints of caramel with mild coffee overtones.

Bottle acquired via unsolicited box from hopscotch...thanks again Eric! Dark mahogany pour with garnet, crimson, and scarlet edges and a small eggshell head. Cocoa, vanilla, caramel, dark fruit, and roasted coffee beans. The plum is there but isn’t necessarily the most aggressive quality. Instead, it melds well with the other flavors...subtle and refined. Pretty solid beer but not something to go out of your way for.

Bomber. Pours deep brown with garnet highlights. Fading beige head, Sweet aroma of chocolate, grain, fruit, caramel, Moderate carbonation, sweet taste of chocolate, plum, caramel with soft and floral bitterness with just a dash of coffee. This seems like an imperial brown porter rather than an imperial robust. Kinda nice,

Sampled bottle at porterveckan 2013. Black with a light brown head. Plums/prunes, definitely, like something you would get at your grandmother’s. Also sweet chocolate, caramel, fruits, medium roast. Medium body. This was interesting, but personally that prune flavour doesn’t quite work for me.

On tap at Christian Firtal. Black with a lasting tan head. Aroma of licorice, malt and dried fruit. Sweet roasted flavour, with plenty of dried fruit and brown sugar. A beer where ST’s signature sweetness works quite well, thanks to a roasted, drying finish.

UPDATED: OCT 27, 2013 Appearance: dark, nearly opaque brown. off-white/cream colored head. Aroma: sugarplums, medium roasted coffee. toasty wheat bread. Taste: sugar, dark fruit, bitter coffee all vie for control. nothing really coheres too well. astringent/bitter aftertaste. Palate: thin, flat carbo. abrupt finish.
